Start on the path between the Exploration Club and Cloud Rest Lake. Look up into tree branches and move close to each tree: players report that hives can be hard to spot from a distance and may appear only when you approach. If that route is empty, try the small island near Blue Beach, the meadow west of the lake, or the northern temple and Youfang’s area. None of these locations is a guaranteed spawn.
Where to look first
Path between the Exploration Club and Cloud Rest Lake
This is the clearest first stop. A guide published by Screen Hype on February 18, 2026, recommends searching the path between the two landmarks and looking upward beneath trees. It names Weeping Fig, Banyan, and White Fig trees as possible hive-bearing trees. Screen Hype’s honeycomb guide
A Steam Community reply also points players to White Fig and Banyan trees west of Cloud Rest Lake and north of the Exploration Club. The player notes that a hive may not render until you are nearby. Steam Community discussion
Other reported search areas
If you do not find a hive on the first route, players and a wiki guide mention these additional leads:

#1 Best Overall
- The small island near Blue Beach
- The meadow west of Cloud Rest Lake
- The area around Youfang’s house, also described in one guide as the panda house
- The northern temple
- Windflute Island
- The Exploration Club and Cloud Rest Lake area
These are reported areas, not confirmed spawn points. The Starsand Island Wiki’s location list is useful as a set of leads, but its page could not be verified directly. How to search for hives
- Go to the path between the Exploration Club and Cloud Rest Lake.
- Check branches from close range, looking upward rather than only scanning the ground or tree trunks.
- Give particular attention to White Fig and Banyan trees; the Screen Hype guide also lists Weeping Fig trees.
- If the route is empty, move on to the Blue Beach island, the meadow west of the lake, or the northern temple and Youfang’s area.
- Keep treating each spot as a lead. The reports do not establish a fixed spawn schedule or a guaranteed hive at any tree.
Why a hive may not be there
Players say hives are not always present on the same tree, and one discussion describes them as scarce after a patch. The available reports do not establish the current spawn rules, a respawn interval, spawn probability, or expected number of hives. If you find nothing, try another reported area rather than repeatedly relying on one tree. Steam Community discussion about honeycomb

Screen Hype’s guide says small hives contain honeycomb, while large hives contain Queen Bees as well as honeycomb. It also describes the Queen Bee as an item used to breed bees in player beehives. These details are reported by that guide; the available sources do not independently confirm current game mechanics. Screen Hype’s honeycomb guide
