Hot Wheels Unleashed was the free Windows PC game on the Epic Games Store on December 27, 2024. The limited holiday offer ended at 8 a.m. Pacific Time on December 28, 2024 (16:00 UTC); it is no longer available to claim for free. If you claimed it during the promotion, Epic says it was added to your library.
When did the Epic Games Store offer end?
Neowin reported the giveaway on December 27, 2024, with the claim window ending the following morning at 8 a.m. Pacific Time. Because Pacific Time was on standard time then, that was 16:00 UTC on December 28. The promotion was for the Windows PC game on Epic, not physical Hot Wheels cars. Epic’s guidance is that promotional games must be claimed during the stated promotion period to be added to an account’s library. A historical giveaway database lists a later end date, January 3, 2025, but that conflicts with contemporaneous reporting of the holiday offer ending the next morning; the December 28 deadline is the one reported at the time. Epic’s support page explains what happens when a player misses a free-game promotion.
What is Hot Wheels Unleashed?
Epic’s Windows listing identifies Hot Wheels Unleashed as a racing game released September 30, 2021, developed and published by Milestone S.r.l. Its core loop combines collecting Hot Wheels vehicles, racing them, and building custom tracks.

Racing, collecting, and track building
The game features arcade-style drifting and boosting, local two-player split-screen, and online races against up to 12 opponents. Its track editor offers loops, boosters, obstacles, and interactive environments. Physical Hot Wheels cars are not required to play; the vehicles are collected in the game.
PC requirements
Epic’s current listing gives Windows 8.1 64-bit or later, 8 GB of RAM, and 22 GB of storage as minimum requirements. The recommended configuration lists 16 GB of RAM and 22 GB of storage. Check the store page for the current processor and graphics-card requirements, as hardware specifications may change.

Can you still claim the game for free?
No—not through the December 2024 promotion. If you claimed the game while the offer was active, check your Epic Games library. If you missed it, keep an eye on future Epic promotions; there is no guarantee this game will be offered free again.
