To use a different Activision account in Warzone, unlink your PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Battle.net, or other supported platform account from the Activision account it is currently connected to, then link it to the Activision account you want to use. Do this through Activision’s account settings—not in Warzone—and check the unlink limit and progress consequences before confirming.
First, identify what you want to change
“Change my Activision account” can mean three different things:

- Use a different Activision account with your platform account: unlink the platform account from its current Activision account, then link it to the intended one.
- Get back into your existing Activision account: recover access or update its email and password rather than switching accounts.
- Change the name other players see: update your Activision ID; this does not change which Activision account is linked.
How to switch the linked Activision account
- Go to the Activision account sign-in page and sign in to the Activision account that currently has your platform account linked. If you cannot use its password, try signing in with the linked platform account.
- Open your profile’s LINKED ACCOUNTS or ACCOUNT LINKING section. The label may differ between Activision’s instructions and the live account page.
- Find the platform account you want to move and select UNLINK. Review the confirmation carefully. Activision may require a one-time verification code sent to the email address on the Activision account.
- Sign in to the Activision account you want to use. In its account-linking settings, choose the same platform provider and follow the prompts. If redirected, sign in with that platform account and authorize the connection.
- Launch Warzone using the platform account and check that it is connected to the intended Activision account.
Activision’s Managing Your Activision Account guidance says an Activision account can have only one account linked per platform provider at a time.
Check the unlink limit before you start
Activision Support’s account-management article, updated September 28, 2026, states: “You may unlink individual platform accounts from an Activision account once every 12 months.” Treat that as a policy restriction, not a routine cooldown that support is guaranteed to waive. Activision also says an account with active enforcement may be restricted from unlinking, and it may deny requests when it detects suspicious activity.

What happens to Warzone progress and content
Cross-progression progress is associated with the Activision account, not transferred with the PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Battle.net account when you link that platform account to a different Activision account. Activision says the progress and content are not lost: relinking the platform account to the original Activision account restores access to them. Do not switch accounts expecting the original progress to appear on the new Activision account.
If you cannot access the email or password
If your platform account is still linked to the Activision account you need, Activision describes signing in through that platform and then updating your credentials in the account’s Basic Info section. The account-management guidance says password-reset links expire after 24 hours. If you cannot access the account email, that reset route may not work; verification codes for some account changes are sent to that email. Activision notes that privacy and security requirements may prevent support from changing account details for you. See Activision account security for its verification information.

If the account was hacked or the change is blocked
If someone took over your account, use Activision’s hacked-account recovery process rather than trying to move the platform account as a workaround. For routine linking and unlinking questions, Activision directs players to its account-management guidance. If the unlink request is restricted or denied, the published guidance does not promise an exception; use Activision Support’s account help for the applicable case.

A display-name change is separate from account linking. Use the Activision ID or name-change controls in your Activision account; do not unlink the platform account just to change the name shown to other players. Activision’s older Warzone registration guidance points players to the Activision Account screen for changing an Activision ID.
