To use an Xbox account with Ubisoft Connect, link that Xbox profile to the Ubisoft account you want to use. The standard route is Ubisoft Account Information → Linked accounts → Xbox → Link. The exact sign-in prompt depends on whether you are on an Xbox console, in the Xbox app on Windows, or trying to access Ubisoft Account Management.
Link your Xbox account to Ubisoft
- Go to Ubisoft Account Information and sign in to the Ubisoft account you intend to use.
- Open Linked accounts.
- Find Xbox and select Link.
- Follow the pop-up instructions and verify that the Xbox account displayed is the one you want to associate before confirming.
Ubisoft also says you can start linking by launching a supported Ubisoft game and signing in to Ubisoft Connect. Prompts can vary by game and situation, so this route may not show the same screens as Account Information.
If you are using the Xbox app on Windows
A separate handoff applies to selected Microsoft Store Ubisoft games labelled PC version included with purchase. It is not a universal sign-in method for Xbox console games.
- In the Xbox PC app, select the eligible game tile and choose Install.
- If Ubisoft Connect PC is not installed, follow the prompt to install it.
- In the Ubisoft Connect PC pop-up, sign in to the Ubisoft account you want to use.
- Check that the Xbox and Ubisoft accounts shown are correct, then select Confirm. If the wrong Xbox account appears, use Change account before confirming.
Ubisoft documents this flow for eligible Microsoft Store purchases; the listing and entitlement determine whether it applies. See Ubisoft’s Microsoft Store instructions.

If Ubisoft says your Xbox profile is already linked
The message “This profile is already linked to another user” means the Xbox account is associated with a different Ubisoft account. Ubisoft’s PC Game Pass guidance says to unlink the existing relationship and use the intended Ubisoft account, but its general linking guidance warns that a platform account previously linked can only be linked again to that same Ubisoft account. If you need a different Xbox profile linked, Ubisoft says to contact Support.
Do not unlink first and investigate later: Ubisoft warns that linking or unlinking external accounts can permanently affect games and subscriptions. Check which Ubisoft account holds the games, progress, or subscription entitlements before changing the association. Consult the PC Game Pass error guidance and the account-linking guidance.

If you cannot sign in with your Ubisoft email
A linked platform account may be offered as an alternative way to sign in to Ubisoft Account Management, but Ubisoft describes this as a possible option, not a guaranteed bypass for account recovery. If you cannot access the email address on the Ubisoft account, first recover access through your email provider. If the problem continues or you suspect account compromise, follow Ubisoft’s email troubleshooting and recovery guidance.

Linking associates the Xbox profile with a Ubisoft account. It does not automatically transfer every game, entitlement, or save. Ubisoft requires a Ubisoft account for crossplay and cross-progression, but availability depends on the specific game and platform. Cross-progression makes progress available on linked platforms where you own the game; a link alone does not guarantee that every title supports it. Check Ubisoft’s crossplay and cross-progression information for the game in question.
