But Roblox may require government-issued ID or parental consent, depending on the change and account. Its official instructions do not guarantee that every correction can be made without ID. Use your real birthday and follow the prompts Roblox shows.
How to correct your birthday in Roblox
- Log in to your Roblox account.
- Open Settings. On a computer, select the gear icon in the upper-right corner; on mobile, tap the three-dot menu.
- Select Account Info.
- Select the pencil icon beside your birthday.
- Enter your correct date of birth and follow the prompts. Roblox may ask for ID if you are 13 or older, or for parental consent, depending on the requested change. Roblox’s age-change instructions describe this process for correcting a birthday entered incorrectly during signup.
How a parent can update a child’s birthday
A parent must first link their Roblox account to the child’s account. The parent can then open Settings > Parental Controls, select the child’s account if multiple accounts are linked, select the pencil beside the child’s avatar, and select the arrow beside the birthday to edit it.

- A linked parent can update the child’s birthday only once.
- If the child has already verified their age with government-issued ID, the birthday cannot be changed through parental controls.
- If the arrow beside the birthday is not available, Roblox says the birthday cannot be changed through that parental control.
- Regional legal requirements may apply.

What to expect if Roblox asks for age verification
Roblox lists a driver’s license, passport, residency card, or another government-issued photo ID as acceptable ID for users aged 13 or older. To follow its documented flow, go to Settings > Account Info, choose Continue with ID, and follow the prompts to scan the document and take a photo used to check that you match the ID. Roblox also describes facial age estimation as an age-check method. Availability can depend on region, and parental consent may be required. The prompt shown for a birthday correction depends on the account and the change being requested, so an ID-free route is not guaranteed.

If Roblox incorrectly places you in an 18+ age group after an age check, its support guidance says you can reset the age-check status in Settings > Account Info. This reversal is available only once per account.

If you report that you are 13 or older but Roblox estimates you as under 13, Roblox describes a 48-hour grace period before the update becomes final. You can accept the result immediately from Account Info.
