For proximity voice chat in Among Us, the current option covered here is BetterCrewLink, an unofficial fork of CrewLink. On Windows, download its latest release and run the setup executable; players on other platforms need to follow the project’s separate instructions, and some routes require a PC player. Before starting, check that everyone’s game version is listed as compatible.
What you need to know before setting it up
BetterCrewLink is a third-party tool designed to let players hear one another based on in-game distance. Its project page describes it as an unofficial CrewLink fork and says the original CrewLink is discontinued. It is not an Innersloth feature or an officially supported mod.
Decide whether your group wants proximity-based voice or simply a regular voice channel. BetterCrewLink is the option for voice that responds to players’ in-game proximity. A conventional external voice channel does not provide that proximity behavior by default.

Understand the support and update risks
Innersloth says it does not provide official mod support: “Please note that due to bandwidth limits and other technical/legal reasons, while we are happy that mods exist, we do not provide official mod support from within Among Us.” Its mod policy also warns that game updates may break mods and that fixes are not guaranteed. Do not treat BetterCrewLink as endorsed or supported by Innersloth.
Innersloth’s platform help article, updated September 28, 2022, lists Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, and itch.io, and says Mac and Chromebooks were not then supported. That dated list describes official game availability; it does not settle whether a third-party BetterCrewLink workaround can work on a particular device.
