If that does not work, check automatic updates, clear the app cache, or reinstall only if the installation has failed.
Let the EA app update when you log in
EA says the app automatically updates to the latest version when you log in. Leave it open while the update runs. If a new update launched while the app was already running, exit and restart it to begin the update. EA Help: Download and update the EA app
If the update does not start
Check automatic updates
Open the EA app’s settings and check whether automatic updates are enabled. EA advises checking this setting when the app is not updating itself. The available instructions do not establish a universal manual “Update now” button, so use the app’s automatic update process rather than looking for a button that may not appear in your version. Clear the cache if the app is stuck or offline
EA says clearing the cache may help when the app is stuck in offline mode or is not updating. Choose the route for your computer:

- Windows, when the app opens: Open the three-line menu, then select Help > App Recovery > Clear Cache.
- Windows, when the app will not open: From the Start menu, select All Apps > EA > App Recovery > Clear Cache. EA’s instructions specify Windows 10 and 11 for this route.
- macOS: In the app’s top menu bar, select Help > App Recovery > Clear Cache.
These are EA’s documented paths; labels or menus can vary by app version. Cache clearing cannot resolve an EA server outage or downtime. If the problem remains, check EA’s server status. EA Help: How to clear your cache
If the installation failed, reinstall the EA app
Reinstalling is a fallback for an errored or incomplete app installation, not the first step for an ordinary pending update. Follow EA’s current download and update instructions to remove the files or folders associated with the failed EA app installation, download the installer again, and run it. Be careful to distinguish the EA app’s installation files from your game folders; do not remove game folders as part of app troubleshooting. EA Help: Download and update the EA app

Check that your operating system is supported
EA’s published requirements list Windows 10 or Windows 11 on a 64-bit PC, or macOS 10.15.8 or later. EA explicitly says 32-bit Windows is not supported. Requirements can change, so consult EA’s current guidance if your computer does not meet these minimums or troubleshooting has not resolved the update problem.
