Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has two separate regions, Trosky and Kuttenberg, and developers are reported as describing their combined map as over twice the size of the first game’s. The original map is reported as 16 km², so that comparison implies more than roughly 32 km² for the sequel—but that is an inference, not a verified measurement of KCD2’s map.
How large is Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’s map?
Radio Times reports that developers described the two regions together as over twice the size of the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance map, which the publication gives as 16 km². On those reported figures, twice the original is 32 km², so “over twice” suggests a combined area above roughly 32 km². Neither that arithmetic nor the comparison establishes an exact surveyed area for KCD2.

Radio Times’ February 12, 2025 explainer and Dexerto’s February 6, 2025 explainer both describe the sequel as having two maps and being roughly twice the first game’s size. These are reported comparisons, not measurements of KCD2’s total explorable land.
What are the two regions?
Trosky
Trosky is the rural, forested region around Trosky Castle and serves as the game’s opening area. Radio Times characterizes it as the countryside region.

Kuttenberg
Kuttenberg is the more developed region, with the large city of the same name and surrounding settlements. Radio Times reports a separate developer comparison: Kuttenberg was described as some 10 times larger than Rattay, the most directly comparable region in the first game. That comparison is about Kuttenberg versus Rattay, not Kuttenberg versus the whole original map.
The regions are separate areas, not two connected halves of one continuous map. The first game’s map is not an additional playable region in the sequel.
Is Kuttenberg larger than Trosky?
Yes, according to the relative estimate in PowerPyx’s February 3, 2025 map guide, Kuttenberg is about 50% larger than Trosky. That is a guide’s estimate, not a developer-published area measurement. PowerPyx also estimates that clearing the fog across the full map on horseback takes 60–75 minutes in Trosky and 90–120 minutes in Kuttenberg. These times depend on route and playstyle; they are not substitutes for measuring land area.

Inara’s unofficial map FAQ estimates roughly 50 km² combined—about 10 km² for Trosky and 40 km² for Kuttenberg. It says its map data comes from game files with manual adjustments, but does not show a transparent area calculation. The estimate is not settled: it is higher than the rough lower-bound implication of the developer-attributed comparison using the first game’s reported 16 km² area. Treat 50 km² as an unverified third-party estimate rather than an established total.

| Claim | What it means | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Over twice the first game’s map | Combined KCD2 regions compared with the original map; arithmetic using the reported 16 km² original gives an implied figure above roughly 32 km². | Developers’ comparison as reported by Radio Times; not a direct measurement of KCD2. |
| About 50% larger | Kuttenberg compared with Trosky. | PowerPyx guide estimate, not a primary measurement. |
| About 50 km² total | Inara’s suggested split is about 10 km² for Trosky and 40 km² for Kuttenberg. | Inara unofficial estimate; calculation method is not transparently shown. |
