EA documents a Build Mode delete-object tool, but it does not document a universal cheat that forcibly deletes every stuck object. If the object cannot be selected, bb.moveobjects on may help you reposition it; EA describes that cheat as changing placement options, not as a deletion command.
Delete the object in Build Mode
- Open Build Mode on the lot where the object is located.
- Try to select the object, then use your platform’s normal delete-object control. EA lists a delete-object tool among its Build Mode object-placement tools, but its console tips do not give one control mapping that applies to every platform. See EA’s console tips for the console context.
If you are playing on console, use the controls shown for your platform rather than relying on a keyboard shortcut from another version of the game.

Can bb.moveobjects on force-delete it?
No deletion guarantee is documented. EA’s cheat instructions say to open the cheat console and enter bb.moveobjects on; the cheat lets the selected object be placed anywhere inside the lot. If the problem is that the object is difficult to reach or reposition, try selecting and moving it, then see whether normal deletion works. Treat this as a possible workaround, not a force-delete command.
What about “Reset Object (Debug)”?
EA documents Reset Object (Debug) for a stuck or unresponsive Sim, not for deleting arbitrary placed objects. The documented Sim procedure is to open the cheat window, enter testingcheats true, then Shift-click the Sim and choose Reset Object (Debug). EA notes that resetting a Sim does not send them home, leaves their needs unchanged, and cancels wishes and moodlets. Those instructions do not establish that the same option can reset or remove a stuck furniture or Build Mode object. See EA’s Sim reset instructions.

If the object still will not delete
EA forum users have suggested reloading the lot or returning to an earlier save when an object cannot be interacted with in Live or Build Mode. These are community-reported troubleshooting ideas, not guaranteed fixes or official universal recovery steps. The discussion is available in the EA forum thread.
- Try leaving and reloading the lot, then test Build Mode deletion again.
- If you consider restoring an earlier save, make a backup first. Returning to an older save can discard progress made after that save.
There is no single official force-delete command established for every object and platform. The best next troubleshooting details depend on whether you are on PC, Mac, or console; what kind of object is stuck; whether it is on the currently active lot; and whether mods or custom content are installed.
