EA allows an EA ID change once every 30 days. If you mean the personal name on your account rather than the identifier other players see, edit the separate Name field instead.
Change your EA ID
- Sign in to your EA Account through EA Help.
- Open the Account Information tab.
- Select Edit beside EA ID.
- Enter the new ID and select Save.
- If prompted to verify your identity, choose a verification option, select Send code, and enter the code EA sends you.
EA ID, Public ID and account name: what is the difference?
EA uses EA ID and Public ID for the public identifier other players see in EA games, on EA websites, and on platforms such as EA Forums and the EA app. The separate Name field is for your account name. To edit it, select Edit beside Name on the Account Information page.
EA ID requirements and change limit
- Length: EA says an EA ID must be unique and 4–16 characters long.
- Personal information: EA says an ID cannot contain your name or other identifying information.
- Availability and filtering: EA may reject an ID that is already in use or whose letters, words or special characters are flagged by its security filter.
- How often you can change it: EA allows an EA ID update once every 30 days.
These requirements are described in EA’s EA ID guidance.
If you can’t save the new ID
Check that the ID meets the length and content requirements and is not already taken. Some account edits also require identity verification, and EA says restrictions may depend on the laws in your country or when that specific account information was last updated. Accounts belonging to people under 18 are treated as child accounts; EA directs parents to its separate child-account guidance.

If the account page still blocks the change, use EA Help to contact support. EA’s guidance does not establish a guaranteed workaround or exception to the 30-day change limit.
