Monster Hunter Wilds takes roughly 13–30 hours to finish its main story, depending on which guide estimate you use and how quickly you play. Optional quests and completionist goals can stretch a run much further: a third-party tracker displays player-submitted estimates of 46 hours for the story plus side content and 115 hours for completionist play.
How long does the Monster Hunter Wilds story take?
Game8 estimates 13–20 hours to reach the end of Low Rank, where it says the story wraps up. GamesRadar+ estimates 20–30 hours for the main campaign. Taken together, those guide estimates make 13–30 hours a reasonable range for the base game’s main story, not a guaranteed finish time.

The estimates differ in source and framing, and neither is a controlled playtime benchmark. Your pace, familiarity with Monster Hunter, and time spent on optional activities can change how long the story takes. The sources reviewed do not establish one standardized completion-time measurement or an official Capcom average.
How long for side content or completionist play?
IsThereAnyDeal displays HowLongToBeat estimates for three play scopes. These are player-submitted estimates shown by a third-party tracker, not official Capcom averages:

| Play scope | Displayed estimate | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| Main story | 18 hours | A player-submitted estimate displayed by IsThereAnyDeal; it is a separate aggregate from the guide estimates above. |
| Main story plus sides | 46 hours | A broader run that includes side content; actual time depends on what you choose to do. |
| Completionist | 115 hours | A community-submitted aggregate for completionist play, not a required or universal 100% benchmark. |
GamesRadar+ also estimates 30–40 hours for its endgame stage and 40+ hours for post-game. Those categories are framed differently from the tracker’s play scopes, so they should not be added to its figures or treated as directly comparable totals.

The estimates here concern the base game. Capcom has announced Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, a paid expansion planned for 2027. Capcom describes it as continuing the base game’s story and adding quest ranks, locales, monsters, and weapon actions. The planned expansion is not part of the base-game estimates, and its announced timing could change.
