To clear a Sim’s moodlets and return their mood to neutral in The Sims 4, open the cheat console, enter sims.remove_all_buffs, and press Enter. EA describes this command as removing Moodlets and returning the Sim to a neutral mood state. [EA’s cheat list]
Use the mood cheat to clear moodlets
- Open the cheat console while playing: press Ctrl+Shift+C on PC or Mac; press L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 together on PlayStation; or press LB + LT + RB + RT together on Xbox.
- Type
sims.remove_all_buffs. - Press Enter. The command removes moodlets and returns the Sim to a neutral mood state, according to EA’s cheat list.
If the Sim is stuck, use a Sim reset instead
A Sim reset addresses a Sim who is stuck or unresponsive; it is different from directly clearing moodlets. Enter resetSim Firstname Lastname, replacing the example with the Sim’s first and last name. EA also documents an in-game option: enter testingcheats true, then Shift-click the Sim and choose Reset Object (Debug). On PlayStation 4, hold Circle and press X to Shift-click; on Xbox One, hold B and press A. See EA’s cheat-console instructions.
To try resetting all Sims in the current game, enter resetSim *. EA cautions that this may not reset every Sim and can return a “Sim not found” error. A stuck-Sim reset returns the Sim to a playable state, but does not send them home or change their needs; it cancels wishes and moodlets. Details are in EA’s Sim reset instructions.
Console achievement and trophy warning
On console, EA says cheats that require testingcheats true disable achievements or trophies for the current save, not for other saves. The warning applies to that save, so consider whether you want to preserve its achievement or trophy progress before enabling testing cheats. EA’s instructions explain the console cheat setup.
