How do you increase bleeding on Moonveil?
Moonveil’s weapon entry lists 50 blood loss buildup. The available reference sources do not establish that this value rises with weapon upgrades, so don’t assume that taking Moonveil to a higher Somber upgrade level will increase its bleed buildup. Eldenpedia lists Moonveil as a Somber weapon that upgrades to +10 and retains its own skill and affinity. Eldenpedia’s Moonveil entry reports the listed buildup and weapon properties.
In practical terms, if you want hemorrhage to trigger sooner while still using Moonveil, land more eligible hits. The cited sources don’t establish a Moonveil-specific trick that raises its buildup per hit.
Does Arcane increase bleed on Moonveil?
No. Arcane affects status buildup when the weapon configuration has Arcane scaling. Moonveil’s listed scaling is Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence—not Arcane—so investing in Arcane does not increase its listed blood loss buildup. Moonveil’s listed attribute requirements are Strength 12, Dexterity 18, and Intelligence 23; its listed scaling grades are E in Strength, D in Dexterity, and C in Intelligence. Those attributes affect its damage profile, not the listed 50 buildup, according to the weapon reference.
Can you put Blood affinity on Moonveil?
No. Moonveil retains its own affinity and weapon skill, so it cannot receive Blood affinity or a bleed Ash of War. Blood affinity is an option for compatible weapons: it adds blood loss buildup and Arcane scaling, while reducing base attack power and other scaling. Does Bloodflame Blade add bleed to Moonveil?
Bloodflame Blade is described as adding blood loss buildup to eligible armaments, but the available evidence does not establish a Moonveil-specific result. Moonveil is a Somber weapon, and the consulted reference material says Somber weapons generally cannot be buffed. Choose a different weapon that can gain Arcane scaling through an appropriate affinity, or one that already scales with Arcane. That is a change in weapon strategy, not a Moonveil upgrade. Blood affinity can raise buildup on compatible weapons, but may lower their base attack power and other scaling. Compare the weapon’s damage and buildup with your actual attributes before changing your setup.

Keep Moonveil if its Intelligence/Dexterity damage profile and fixed skill suit your build; use a compatible Arcane-scaling weapon when higher bleed buildup is the priority. Official Elden Ring patch notes are available from Bandai Namco, but the cited notes do not provide a specific Moonveil bleed-buildup change.
