You can’t enlarge a lot’s boundaries in The Sims 4 through normal gameplay. To use more space, move your build to a larger existing lot—or adapt the build to fit the lot you already have.
Can you make your lot bigger in The Sims 4?
No. A lot’s boundary is fixed; the accepted answer in EA’s forum discussion “Changing lot sizes Sims 4” says, “You can’t make a lot bigger. The size is given.” The answer recommends putting larger houses on larger lots.

EA’s cheat reference lists build-related cheats, but does not document a code for changing lot dimensions. Cheats such as bb.moveobjects affect object placement; they do not expand the lot.
How to use a larger lot for your build
- Choose a larger existing lot. Find one in a world that has enough room for the house and any outdoor features you want.
- Save or place the build. If you’re moving an existing house, save it to your Library or the Gallery, then place it on the larger lot. Check the build’s placement and adjust it to the new lot as needed.
- Use the Gallery to find a build, if needed. EA describes the Gallery as a place to find lots designed by other players. A Gallery lot is a build, not an enlargement tool: it still needs a suitable lot in your game.
What if you want to keep your current lot?
Rework the house or landscaping to fit within the existing boundary: reduce the footprint, remove or simplify outdoor features, or build upward where the design allows. This changes the build, not the lot size.

Why object-size controls and build cheats won’t enlarge the lot
Resizing an object is different from resizing a lot. EA’s object-sizing instructions explain how to enlarge or shrink a selected object in Build Mode on PC, Mac, and consoles. The selected object changes size; the lot boundary does not.
Likewise, bb.enablefreebuild changes where you can build, and bb.moveobjects affects object placement. Neither is documented as a lot-resizing cheat in EA’s cheat reference.
