To complete Hyrule Castle Dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, finish the Gerudo and Zora storylines, enter the well in Hyrule Castle Town, and follow the Stilled Hyrule Castle Town rift north to the castle. Inside, move the throne to find the dungeon entrance, sneak through the guard rooms, light the torches, collect the Small Key and Big Key, then return to the boss door. The torch behind the grate is reachable with an Ignizol: send it through the right-hand grate, Bind it, and carry it north to the torch across the gap.
How to reach Hyrule Castle Dungeon
- Complete the Gerudo and Zora quests, then return to Hyrule Castle Town.
- Enter the open well. Tri opens a gateway into the Stilled Hyrule Castle Town rift.
- Travel north through the Still World to reach Hyrule Castle.
How to enter the dungeon and get past the guards
Climb the initial stairs and defeat the Darknut to learn the Darknut Lv. 2 Echo. In the throne room, use Bind on the throne and pull it aside to uncover a ladder. Descend, activate the Waypoint, then Bind the spinning door to enter the guard section.

Stay on shelves and other raised surfaces where possible. Cross when guards are looking away, and distract them with pots or enemy echoes. If a guard catches Zelda, she is sent to a small room to fight dark enemies before a warp returns her to the section.
Later in the stealth route, use Bind to move boxes and decorative shrubs. Climb the ladder behind a shrub, use echoes to reach the bookshelves, then throw a Hyrule Castle Pot Echo to draw the last guard away.

How to light the torch behind the wall
In the torch room, the far torch is separated by a wall and grate. Send an Ignizol through the grate on the right, press X to Bind it, and carry it north across the gap to light the torch. The other torches must also be lit to open the door. One walkthrough also describes using a charged Ignizol Echo on the first torch and carrying an Ignizol from the bottom-right corner to the upper-right torch.
Where to find the Dungeon Map
In the Gustmaster room, you can learn the Gustmaster Echo by using flying enemies, or Bind and pull the Gustmaster into the pit. Use echoes to cross the pit and reach the Ignizols. Take the right-hand door, then use a Wind Cannon-type Echo to blow sand away and reveal a chest containing the Dungeon Map. Return to the previous room and cross the larger gap with echoes. Activate the Waypoint near the boss door.

Where to find the Small Key
- From the boss-door Waypoint, take the left route. Defeat the Dark Tektites, cross the water, and descend the ladder.
- Swim through the dark underwater tunnels and watch for the Bio Deku Baba. Swordfighter Form can break the black goo blocking parts of the route.
- Optional chests on the route contain 20 and 100 rupees. Guides use different color names for these rupees, so follow the locations and values rather than the color labels.
- Continue to the guard room. Sneak past the guards, climb to the east side, and use an echo on the pillar switch to reveal the chest with the Small Key. A flying echo such as Mothula can help you glide down to it.
After taking the key, backtrack to the Waypoint or warp there.
How to get the Big Key, Frog Ring, and Golden Egg
- From the Waypoint, take the right-hand route and defeat the enemies. Use a Bombfish on the suspicious wall for an optional chest with 50 rupees.
- Continue south, descend the ladder, and use the Small Key on the locked route.
- Defeat the first Gustmaster. For the next gap, Flying Tiles are one option; Strandtula Echoes can also make webs across narrow strings and provide a climb up the right side.
- In the next room, face two Darknuts and a Ball-and-Chain Trooper. You can summon an echo to fight or distract them; when the Trooper is distracted, throwable rocks are another attack option.
- Go north to collect the Big Key, Frog Ring, and Golden Egg. The Frog Ring increases jump height.
Return to the boss-door Waypoint and use the Big Key to open the door. These are workable approaches rather than exclusive solutions: Nintendo describes echoes as imitations used to solve puzzles and defeat enemies, and encourages experimentation. Learned echoes can be remade instantly, while the Notebook provides descriptions and hints.

How to beat Ganon in Hyrule Castle
In the opening phase, evade Ganon’s trident attacks and strike during the brief opening after he attacks. Use an echo or Swordfighter Form. In the second phase, he throws the trident and warps; attack after he reappears and before the trident returns. The available walkthrough account does not establish a full sequence for later phases, so exact timing beyond these openings is not specified here.
What happens after the dungeon
After the boss, Zelda wakes in her bedroom. Visit the throne room to receive a new costume, then speak to the king to start the “Lands of the Goddesses” main quest. Eldin Volcano, Hebra Mountains, and Faron Wetlands become available as the next regions.
