What happened during Hoopa Unbound Raid Day?
Hoopa Unbound appeared more frequently in five-star raids during the three-hour event. The event’s bonuses and ticket were limited to February 15, 2025; they are not current offers or pass limits. The official event announcement set the schedule in local time, so the start and end varied by time zone.

How to join a Hoopa Unbound raid
During the event, spinning Gym Photo Discs awarded up to five additional free Raid Passes, for up to seven total that day. The Remote Raid Pass limit rose to 20 from Friday, February 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PST through Saturday, February 15, at 8:00 p.m. PST. Both figures were temporary event bonuses, not present-day limits.
- Find a Gym with an active five-star raid, or locate one through the Nearby screen. A raid becomes available after its Raid Egg hatches.
- Use an eligible Raid Pass to enter, then choose a party of six Pokémon.
- Join a public group matched with other players, or select a private group and enter its group code.
- Battle Hoopa Unbound. If your group loses, you can rejoin the same raid without using another Pass while the raid remains active.

What to use against Hoopa Unbound
Hoopa Unbound is Psychic- and Dark-type. The Pokémon Company identifies Bug-type attacks as the most effective option and Fairy-type attacks as another effective choice. Build your party around those attack types rather than assuming a generic raid team will be ideal. The official Hoopa Unbound Raid Day strategy guide gives encounter CP ranges, not a recommended raid-party CP: 2,197–2,289 without a weather boost, or 2,746–2,862 with a weather boost. These are the CP values of Hoopa Unbound when encountered after a win.
How the battle and catch work
During the raid, use Fast Attacks and Charged Attacks, and dodge when appropriate. Winning does not add Hoopa Unbound automatically to your collection: it gives you a chance to catch it using Premier Balls. The number of Premier Balls depends on damage dealt, whether your team controls the Gym, and how quickly the group defeats the boss. Berries can help during the catch encounter, according to the Help Center’s raid guidance.

Standard participation or the 2025 ticket
The ticket was optional and purchasable in the in-game shop only until 4:00 p.m. local time on February 15, 2025. Its bonuses ran from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time that day. It is no longer available for this event.

The ticket details and timing were published in the official event announcement. The increased Remote Raid Pass limit was separate from the ticket.

Changing Hoopa’s form
Starting with Raid Day, all trainers could change Hoopa’s form regardless of whether they had completed the Mischief Unbound Special Research. The announcement also said Hoopa Unbound could be transferred to Pokémon HOME. To change forms, the earlier Mischief Unbound announcement specified these costs:
