Use this mission-by-mission checklist to see which hero or action each listed challenge requires and which hazards to avoid. The written guide cited here lists 42 challenges across 14 missions after the Nova Cruiser tutorial, while a December 2025 video-guide description claims 45 Stage Challenges. Because the sources disagree, check the challenge menu in your current game version before treating either figure as the definitive total.
How to use this challenge checklist
The objectives below are transcribed from Adventure Gamers’ mission challenge guide, updated December 5, 2025. That guide says the Nova Cruiser tutorial has no challenges and lists three objectives for each of the next 14 missions. A separate December 14, 2025 video-guide result advertises all 45 Stage Challenges, but its description does not explain the difference. The checklist is useful, but it is not proof that every current edition or update has the same total.
Most character-specific objectives name the hero whose move is required. The official Marvel Cosmic Invasion site describes Cosmic Swap this way: “With the Cosmic Swap tag-team system, choose two heroes for each level and switch between them instantly.” Bring the required hero in your duo; the site says the heroes’ abilities can support combos and special attacks.
The written guide calls challenges optional and says they can unlock bonus items. It does not give button inputs, timing windows, or checkpoint rules for individual objectives, so use the exact move names and conditions below as a checklist rather than as a frame-by-frame walkthrough.

New York City — Road to Annihilation
- Hit 3 enemies with one Spider-Man web-swing kick.
- Defeat 10 enemies with Nova’s Energy Beam.
- Avoid damage from the swarming bugs.
Genosha — Heavy Metal
- Defeat 10 enemies using Wolverine’s Feral Throw.
- Defeat 10 enemies by dropping Storm’s Electric Bombs.
- Free all mutants.
Helicarrier — Operation Jailbreak
- Hit 3 enemies with one Iron Man electro-charge attack.
- Toss 5 enemies into pits using Captain America.
- Defeat 15 enemies using the Helicarrier turret guns.
Savage Land — Rumble in the Jungle
- Defeat 5 enemies using She-Hulk’s throw.
- Hit 5 enemies with one Storm special attack.
- Avoid damage from the dinosaur stampede.
Wakanda — Battle for Birnin Zana
- Defeat the mission boss using Black Panther.
- Hit 3 enemies with one Captain America shield throw.
- Destroy the bug pods before they spawn 25 enemies.
Blue Area of the Moon — Full Moon of the Insectoids
- Defeat Jean Grey/Phoenix using Wolverine.
- Defeat 10 enemies using Nova’s special attack.
- Avoid damage from the bug barricade.
Asgard — Fall of the Golden City
- Toss 10 enemies into pits using Jean Grey/Phoenix.
- Hit 4 enemies with one Beta Ray Bill tackle.
- Avoid damage from Galactus’s cosmic absorption.
Destromundo — The Flying Menagerie
- Defeat the mission boss using Spider-Man.
- Hit 3 enemies with one She-Hulk Sonic Clap.
- Defeat 5 enemies using traps.
Klyntar — Return of the King
- Defeat 10 enemies using Venom’s throw.
- Hit 5 enemies with one Black Panther special attack.
- Avoid damage from the Corruption Waves.
Hala — The Kree/Bugs War
- Defeat 5 enemies using Rocket Raccoon’s grenades.
- Defeat 10 enemies using Captain America’s shield throw.
- Avoid detection by drones in the first part of the mission.
Sanctuary II — The Great Experiment
- Perform 10 parries using Phyla-Vell.
- Use Iron Man’s special attack.
- Avoid damage from Sanctuary-II defense systems.
Fort Galactus — Free the Eater of Worlds
- Defeat 10 enemies using Cosmic Ghost Rider’s cosmic machine-gun attack.
- Hit 5 enemies with one Beta Ray Bill Stormbreaker throw.
- Avoid damage from debris thrown by Galactus.
Heteropteron — Hell is the Hive
- Hit 5 enemies with one Nova special attack.
- Perform 5 cosmic-charged slashes using Phyla-Vell.
- Avoid damage from the Larvas.
Arthros Citadel — Negative Zone Showdown
- Perform 10 Silver Surfer cosmic blasts.
- Defeat 3 enemies using Rocket Raccoon’s nuke grenade attack.
- Defeat 10 enemies with Galactus’ help.
NYC Rooftops — The Last Battle
- Toss 5 enemies into pits.
- Defeat the mission boss using Nova.
- Avoid damage from Annihilus’ negative-rain meteor attacks.
Characters unlocked through the campaign
The written guide says four initially locked characters become playable after you defeat them as bosses:
- Phoenix (Jean Grey): Mission 7.
- Venom: Mission 8.
- Phyla-Vell: Mission 11.
- Silver Surfer: Mission 13.
These unlocks matter for later character-specific objectives. If you reach a listed challenge before a required character is available, return after unlocking them and select them as one of your two heroes.

Interpreting the challenge total
The written checklist accounts for 42 objectives: three in each of 14 missions, with none listed for the Nova Cruiser tutorial. A December 14, 2025 video result claims a 45-challenge trophy guide, but the available description does not identify the extra objectives or clarify whether it counts challenges differently. The PlayStation product listing identifies a 15-hero roster and lists PS4 and PS5 versions; it does not resolve the challenge-count discrepancy. Check the in-game challenge and achievement menus for your platform and version when tracking completion.
