Which animals can you farm in Aloft?
The Aloft Wiki lists four tameable farm animals. Its location notes are useful starting points, not a guarantee that an animal will spawn at a particular spot.

How to tame and move an animal
- Find a suitable animal. Use the locations above as a guide, keeping in mind that a listed location does not guarantee a spawn.
- Feed it the correct food. Use hay for sheep, alpacas, and goats, or grain for pheasants. The official FAQ says an animal must be tamed before it can be sent to another island.
- Build an Animal Landing Pad on the destination island. Pick up the tamed animal and hold E to open the landing-pad interface, then choose a destination pad. The FAQ notes that pads have limited range, so a distant pad may not appear as an available destination.
The developer-authored Aloft FAQ on Steam summarizes the transfer step: “After the animal is tamed, you can pick it up and hold [E] to send it home.”

How to keep animals fed
A feeding trough lets animals eat on their own when it is stocked with hay or grain. It accepts only one type of feed at a time, so use separate troughs if you need to supply both foods. The trough page lists its recipe as five carved wood for one trough.
You can also feed an animal directly from your inventory. The hay page says hay does not need to be equipped in the toolbar. A large hay bale or stockpile is not the same as a feeding trough: if an animal still appears hungry, check that you have stocked a trough with the appropriate feed or try feeding it directly.

How to make hay and grain
Hay
Hay can be found on some islands or crafted at a Workbench. The Aloft Wiki gives the recipe as four wheat and one rope to make three hay.
Grain
Make grain by placing a seed packet in a Millstone and completing the process. The building list describes the Millstone as the grinder used to make grain for pheasants.

These are in-game recipes documented on the Wiki’s hay, grain, and building list pages. Wiki pages include stub notices, and the grain page refers to a limited demo, so details may differ in a later game build.

The documented yield is for a befriended female pheasant: feeding her produces one egg and one feather. Feeding a wild pheasant befriends and names it. The pages reviewed do not establish equivalent yields for sheep, goats, or alpacas, so do not assume they produce a particular resource or quantity.

Is animal breeding available?
Whether animals can breed in the current game is unconfirmed. A Steam discussion contains conflicting player claims, and the FAQ and Wiki pages cited here do not settle the mechanic.
