Harvest Brittle Bush shrubs on rocky terrain to get Plant Fiber. Start with the rocky outcrops southwest of the Alcyon Wreck, or search the rocky area west of the Trials of Alq. A Survey Probe can point you toward a general resource area, but you’ll still need to find the bushes yourself. Resource locations may change after Coriolis Storms, so check the map and terrain in your current session.
How to farm Plant Fiber
- Head for rocky ground. Search rocky outcrops rather than open sand. A guide identifies two outcrops southwest of the Alcyon Wreck and a rocky area west of the Trials of Alq; it describes the southern Alcyon outcrop as having more shrubs, though density can vary. - Deploy a Survey Probe if you have one. Use its map marker to narrow the search to a general resource area, then look around for individual Brittle Bush shrubs. The marker is not an exact pin for each plant. AELGames’ guide
- Harvest the shrubs in a short loop. Gather every nearby Brittle Bush, then move to another cluster or collect other nearby resources before returning. AELGames reports an approximate 30-second shrub respawn, but this is an observation from its guide, not an official guarantee; timing may vary.
- Treat containers and scavenger loot as bonuses. They may occasionally provide Plant Fiber, but drops are random and are not as dependable as harvesting shrubs, according to AELGames.
- Recheck after a Coriolis Storm. Locations may shift, so use the current map and inspect the terrain rather than assuming a previously productive route is unchanged.

Choosing a route for your session
There is no established yield-per-minute comparison proving one route is fastest for every player. Pick based on the factors that affect your actual trip:
- Travel time: Prefer the rocky cluster closest to your current objective.
- Plant density: Try the southern Alcyon outcrop first if nearby, but judge it by what you find now.
- Local danger: Account for scavengers and other threats around the route.
- Map information: If a Survey Probe has marked a general area, search around it before spending time traveling elsewhere.
What Plant Fiber is used for
Plant Fiber is a crafting resource used in armor and bandages, and it also appears in crafting recipes and journey or contract objectives. Recipe requirements can change with updates, so check the current in-game recipe before farming for a specific quantity.
