This is a historical walkthrough for Diablo IV Season 6, Season of Hatred Rising, which launched in October 2024 alongside Vessel of Hatred. You did not need to finish every listed objective: each chapter had a minimum completion threshold. The objectives, difficulty names, Realmwalker schedule, and rewards below describe that Season 6 ruleset, not the current season.
How many objectives do you need for each chapter?
Season of Hatred Rising’s Season Journey had seven chapters. The completion requirement was a set number of objectives in each chapter, rather than every task on its list. The thresholds below are reported in GameSpot’s October 8, 2024 walkthrough; consult the in-game Journal if playing a preserved or rerun version.

GameSpot’s dated walkthrough provides the detailed objective counts and themes; Blizzard’s Season 6 announcement also identifies Journey rewards including the Resplendent Spark, Shepherd of Hollows Mount Trophy, and Seething Opals. The later “Dante the Dog” reward belongs to a different season, not Season of Hatred Rising.
What is the most efficient way to progress?
Choose objectives you can complete naturally
Early chapters mix collection and upgrade tasks with cellars, dungeons, events, and Helltide activities. Since only the listed threshold is required, complete straightforward tasks as you play and skip the most inconvenient ones rather than treating the entire list as mandatory.

Prioritize Realmwalkers and Zakarum Remnants
Realmwalker encounters and Zakarum Remnants reputation appear repeatedly in the early chapters. The Realmwalker-related objectives include earning reputation, defeating its minions or guardians, collecting Seething Opals, and fighting in Seething Realms. Blizzard described the encounter as a sequence: kill Bloodbound Guardians while the Realmwalker is invulnerable, destroy three Hatred Spires at its ritual site, then defeat the exposed Realmwalker.
Use the Season 6 schedule as historical context
At launch, Blizzard said Realmwalkers spawned in an Estuar region every 15 minutes, moving between locations, with an additional Nahantu spawn once an hour. The first Estuar Realmwalker each hour was a Whisper, and every three hours the Nahantu Realmwalker was a Whisper. That cadence describes Season 6 and should not be assumed for a later season.

Raise difficulty as the later objectives demand it
The reported chapter objectives progress through Hard, Expert, Penitent, and Torment difficulties, then into Pit tiers, bosses, glyph upgrades, Paragon, and gear systems. These labels and tasks belong to Season 6’s 2024 ruleset. Check the current in-game objectives rather than applying them to a different season.
Combine activities when it makes sense
The period guide notes that a dungeon with a Tree of Whispers objective could advance both tracks. Pit runs and gear upgrades can also help prepare a character for later challenges. These are practical route suggestions for the historical objective set, not claims about the best way to progress in a current season.

What should you know before using this as a current guide?
Season of Hatred Rising is a past season. Blizzard’s 2026 season announcement describes Season of Reckoning and a newer Season Rank system, so the Season 6 chapter list, named difficulties, rewards, and Realmwalker timing are not current-season instructions. This walkthrough is useful for understanding or revisiting the 2024 Season Journey; for active play, use the objectives displayed in the game.
Vessel of Hatred launched alongside Season 6, but the launch-era sources say players without the expansion could participate in Realmwalker activities. Do not treat expansion ownership as a universal requirement for the Season Journey.
