If you want to complete its original discovery chain instead, pick up The Old Champ in Gadgetzan and follow the quests through Azshara to the Fight Night finale. Avoid joining a group during the quest chain: Wowhead reports that grouping can bug the hand-in.
Choose the Rune Broker or the original quest chain
Wowhead says Rune Brokers sell all class runes and class skill books, while the original discovery quests remain available. Buying the rune is the quicker route; completing the chain preserves the discovery experience. Wowhead also warns that learning the ability from a vendor can interfere with related rune discoveries or quests, so consider doing the chain first if you want to avoid that potential issue. See the [Gladiator Stance Rune Guide] and [Warrior Runes and SoD Locations].
How to complete the traditional Gladiator Stance Rune quest chain
1. Complete the prerequisites
Before starting, complete the Blood Frenzy quest from Phase 1 and Rallying Cry quest from Phase 2. Both involve defeating Wandering Swordsmen.
2. Start The Old Champ in Gadgetzan
Find Fizbuz Mithril in Gadgetzan, Tanaris, at approximately 51.6, 27.6, and accept The Old Champ.

Do not group during the chain
Stay solo throughout these quests. Wowhead warns that grouping at any stage can bug the quest and prevent the Return to the Arena hand-in. The walkthrough is dated April 7, 2024; Wowhead’s Warrior rune index, updated March 4, 2025, labels Patch 1.15.8. Check the linked guides if quest behavior differs on your current server version.

Gladiator Stance is a Warrior Boots Rune; Wowhead recommends level 45 or higher. Icy Veins describes it as increasing damage and block chance while a shield is equipped, while reducing armor and threat. It also lets shield-wearing Warriors use abilities restricted to other stances. Read the Icy Veins Warrior rune guide for the effect details.
