Start The Mad Priest Fieldwork

Go to the Vatican Post Office and pick up Catherine’s Letter. PowerPyx places the letter on a desk outside Ernesto’s office; Game8 lists it as a Post Office Fieldwork note. Picking it up starts The Mad Priest. See PowerPyx’s The Mad Priest walkthrough and Game8’s Vatican City guide.

Track The Mad Priest in your Fieldwork objectives and follow the prompts through the Vatican toward the Apostolic Palace.
Search the Apostolic Palace
The diary is in the Apostolic Palace’s restricted area, in the room the Fieldwork objective leads you to. Follow the active objective marker and search the room for the item. Guides identify its container differently: Game8 says ration box, PowerPyx says foot locker, and TrueAchievements describes a chest on a table. The location and quest are consistent across those guides, but the exact container label is not. TrueAchievements’ Vatican guide also places it along the palace route.
