To defeat Draven, dodge his sword combo, move out of the way of his charged line attack and Asinia’s marked curse areas, and run through the summoned spirits before he can absorb three. Draven is an Act 1 boss in the Mausoleum of the Praetor, beneath the Cemetery of the Eternals.

Where to find Draven

Draven is in the Mausoleum of the Praetor, a sub-dungeon beneath the Cemetery of the Eternals. The Mausoleum’s position within the cemetery can vary. Look for its round entrance and use the outside checkpoint as a landmark. Defeating Draven advances the Sorrow Among Stones quest and rewards Draven’s Memorial Key Piece.

How to handle Draven’s attacks

Multi-hit sword combo

Draven can chain several sword strikes together. Dodge away or around him, and wait for the entire sequence to finish before moving back into melee range. Avoid standing in front of him and trying to trade hits during the combo.

Projectile fan

A sword swipe sends projectiles outward in a spread. If you are close, move around behind Draven; if you are farther away, step out of the projectile lanes instead of remaining still.

Charged vertical soul slash

When Draven stomps and telegraphs a large slash along a line, move clear of that line. Once the attack passes, use its recovery window to strike from the side or behind.

Asinia’s curse sigils

Asinia marks large areas that explode after a short delay. Leave the marked ground promptly by moving or rolling, then resume attacking when you have a safe opening.

Stop Draven from absorbing souls

When spirits appear and drift toward Draven, run through them to dissipate them. This is the encounter’s key mechanic: if he absorbs three souls, he becomes empowered, with greater aggression or attack speed and changed attacks. Intercept spirits as they travel, but keep a clear route around the arena so you do not run into an attack or a marked area while doing so.

Positioning for melee and ranged characters

Melee

Stay close enough to punish Draven’s recovery, but do not stay in front of him through a sword sequence. Dodge away or around him, let the combo end, and re-engage during the opening that follows.

Ranged

Preserve space and attack between telegraphed moves. Keep moving laterally or leave the projectile lanes when he swings; distance alone does not protect you from the fan or Asinia’s marked areas.

Both approaches still need to avoid the marked ground and intercept the spirits. The available guides do not establish that one archetype is universally better.

Watch the arena and prepare sensibly

The arena has a central hole. A guide reports that it does not make the character fall, but it can catch or obstruct movement during a dodge, so avoid cutting across it while repositioning.

One guide suggests arriving at about level 8 and notes that Lightning resistance can help against skeletons in the Mausoleum. Treat both as optional zone-preparation advice, not a required level or resistance threshold for Draven; no mandatory threshold is established.

What defeating Draven does

Draven’s defeat advances Sorrow Among Stones and gives you Draven’s Memorial Key Piece. The quest progression also involves Asinia and the gate, so collect the key piece and continue the quest.
