To reach level 10 in Tattooing, keep your Sim Inspired and use a digital sketchpad to design tattoos or the Deluxe Tattoo Table to practice, give tattoos, or tend the table. EA says an Inspired Moodlet increases Tattooing skill gain. Skill books are slower and stop at level 9; the optional Discover University class and Businesses & Hobbies whiteboard offer other ways to learn.
What you need to start building Tattooing
Tattooing is a 10-level skill from The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack. Teen, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder Sims can learn it. EA’s Tattooing skill guide lists the ways to gain progress and the unlocks at each level.

- Buy the Deluxe Tattoo Table by Inktastic in Build Mode to practice, offer tattoos, or tend the table.
- Use a Digitalistic Sketchpad to design tattoos. If you own Artist Studio Kit, the CreativePro Tablet also works.
- Keep the Sim Inspired: EA says this Moodlet helps build Tattooing faster, but does not publish an exact rate or time-to-level.
Skill progress appears as a green bar above the Sim. For the exact level, open the Sim Panel in Live Mode and select the Skills tab.

For a straightforward route without another pack, use the sketchpad and Tattoo Table interactions while Inspired. The evidence does not establish a single fastest interaction or a reliable number of in-game hours to reach level 10, so choose between designing, practicing, earning through tending, or tattooing other Sims according to what your household needs.

What unlocks at each Tattooing level?
EA’s guide lists these milestones. New designs, stamps, and stencils expand the options available to the tattoo artist; higher levels also unlock service features and allow higher charges at the table.

EA’s Businesses & Hobbies announcement also notes that leveling unlocks stamps, stencils, and touch-ups, which improve the odds of excellent results.

How to set a Tattooing skill level with a cheat
EA documents a skill-level cheat for PC/Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox. It bypasses normal progression; use the sketchpad or table if you want to earn the unlocks through play.
- Open the cheat console: press Control+Shift+C on PC or Mac; press R1+R2+L1+L2 on PlayStation; or press RB+RT+LB+LT on Xbox.
- Enter
testingcheats trueand confirm. - Enter
stats.set_skill_level major_tattooing [skill level], replacing[skill level]with a number from 1 to 10. For example, EA gives level 7 as an example:stats.set_skill_level major_tattooing 7.
