To change the EA Account linked to your PlayStation Network account, first check which EA Account is connected. If the link is eligible, unlink PlayStation in EA Account settings, then launch an EA game and sign in with the EA Account you want to use. This does not transfer progress or guarantee that purchases and items will follow the new link, so review the effects before proceeding.
Before you switch accounts
Sign in to the EA Account you believe is connected to your PlayStation Network account, then open Connected Accounts. Confirm the PlayStation connection and identify both accounts involved before unlinking. If you can’t access the old EA Account, use EA’s account-linking troubleshooting guidance rather than guessing which account is linked.
EA says linked accounts can be switched up to three times in a rolling year. Its troubleshooting guidance also says a link made less than one year ago may not yet be eligible to unlink and relink to a different account. These are eligibility limits, not a guarantee that a link older than a year can be changed; check the options shown for your account.
Unlinking does not move game progress to the new EA Account. EA warns that access to DLC, purchases, memberships, in-game items, and other entitlements can be affected, and some may remain associated with the EA Account first linked. EA says it cannot move progress between EA Accounts. Review EA’s unlinking guidance before confirming.

How to change the linked EA Account
- Check the current connection: sign in to the EA Account you think is linked and open Connected Accounts. Confirm the PlayStation account shown there.
- Unlink PlayStation: choose Unlink beside the PlayStation connection, if the option is available. Read the warning and complete any identity verification EA requests before confirming.
- Sign in with the intended EA Account: launch the EA game on PlayStation and follow its sign-in prompts. Enter the EA Account you want to connect and complete any one-time verification code step.
- Verify the result: check Connected Accounts again and confirm the game is using the intended PlayStation and EA Accounts.
For some old or expired EA Account situations, EA documents an in-game Use another account option during the sign-in flow. Follow that prompt if it appears; it is not a way to bypass account eligibility or transfer progress. See EA’s linking instructions for the account flow.
If you only need to change your email
Keep the existing EA Account and update its email address instead of unlinking PlayStation. Changing the email on the same account preserves the account you are already using; unlinking to switch accounts introduces the progress and entitlement risks above. EA’s linking troubleshooting guide covers cases where you cannot access the email connected to an existing account.

If Unlink is unavailable or something goes wrong
- The button is missing or grayed out: do not assume the account can be switched. Check EA’s linking eligibility guidance and try to recover the existing EA Account if the link is too recent.
- The EA Account is disabled, banned, or suspended: EA says the normal platform unlink process is unavailable. Follow EA’s unlinking troubleshooting steps.
- You cannot access the old EA Account: use EA account recovery or contact EA support through its recovery guidance. If the problem is access to the PlayStation account itself, EA directs PlayStation users to PlayStation support.
- Progress disappeared after unlinking: confirm the PlayStation account is signed in on the console and check which EA Account it is linked to. If you can still access the original EA Account, relinking it may restore access to progress associated with that account. EA explains that it cannot move progress to another EA Account in its lost-progress guide.
