- Plan the data first. Decide what player progress and game state need to be saved, and how those data will support the systems you intend to build.
- Build the backend systems. Establish the server-side foundations before relying on interface elements that display or change game state.
- Add the player-facing layer. Build and refine interfaces after the underlying systems they present are in place.
- Adjust the sequence to the project. The author explicitly qualifies this as a personal workflow, not a universal rule; desired complexity can change the order.
This is advice from the tutorial author, not official Roblox platform guidance or a workflow tested against alternatives. For a related game, it offers a useful planning principle: decide how features depend on saved data before polishing their interfaces.
