The resulting Rune of Demolition teaches Wrecking Crew, a Warrior bracer rune.
Original method: break a Geode Hammer
- Go to the southwest Hinterlands. Look around the Witherbark troll camps. Wowhead’s Warrior rune index points to Hiri’Watha near coordinates 24, 58 as a target area and places the camp northwest of Shadra’Alor: Wowhead’s Warrior rune index.
- Farm Witherbark trolls for a Geode Hammer. Warcraft Tavern lists Witherbark Callers, Hideskinners, Sadists, Scalp ers, Venombloods, and Zealots as possible sources. The guides do not establish a reliable drop rate, so expect the farm to take an unknown number of kills. Warcraft Tavern also says the hammer requires level 41 to use: Warcraft Tavern’s Warrior rune guide.
- Equip the hammer and use it during combat. Keep fighting with it until it breaks and changes into a Broken Geode Hammer.
- Open the Broken Geode Hammer. It grants Rune of Demolition; use that item to learn Wrecking Crew.
Wowhead describes the hammer’s sources more broadly as trolls and spiders, while Warcraft Tavern specifies Witherbark trolls in the southwest Hinterlands. The Witherbark route is the more precise place to start; the available guides do not establish that every troll or spider in the zone can drop it. Can you buy Wrecking Crew from a Rune Broker?
Yes, the guides report Rune Brokers as an alternative source for Season of Discovery runes, bypassing the hammer farm. Warcraft Tavern reported a 1-copper price in Phase 6, and Wowhead notes that class runes can be purchased from vendors in each race’s main city. Vendor availability and price can change with game updates, so check a Rune Broker in your current build before relying on that route.
What Wrecking Crew does
Wrecking Crew is a Warrior rune engraved on bracers. Icy Veins describes its effect as causing melee critical hits to Enrage the Warrior and increase Mortal Strike, Bloodthirst, and Shield Slam damage by 10% for 12 seconds: Icy Veins’ Warrior rune guide.
