To start Lies of P: Overture, you must own the expansion. On a first playthrough, reach the end of Chapter 9 and restore the Hotel Krat Stargazer; then follow the Star’s Chrysalis quest marker to Path of the Pilgrim and watch the cutscene. On your second or later playthrough, you can access it from Chapter 5 at Path of the Pilgrim instead.
How to start Overture
- Confirm you own the DLC. Overture is sold separately unless you bought a bundle that includes both the base game and expansion. NEOWIZ’s launch patch notes state that the DLC must be purchased separately; PlayStation also announced an Overture bundle containing both games.
- Reach the correct chapter for your playthrough. On your first run, progress through Chapter 9 and restore the Hotel Krat Stargazer at the chapter’s end. On a second or later run, check Path of the Pilgrim from Chapter 5.
- Follow the Star’s Chrysalis marker. After restoring the Stargazer at the end of Chapter 9 on a first run, the Functional item Star’s Chrysalis is added to your inventory. Open the teleport menu and follow its quest icon to Path of the Pilgrim. The resulting cutscene starts Overture. NEOWIZ details this route in its Overture Access Guide.

The Chapter 5 route was added in version 1.9.0.0, announced by NEOWIZ on June 19, 2025. The original Chapter 9 instructions still apply to a first run, but not to every subsequent run; see the official version announcements.

If Overture does not appear
- Check that the expansion is owned, either on its own or through a bundle that includes it.
- Make sure the game is updated, then check the appropriate location for your playthrough: the Chapter 9 trigger on a first run or Path of the Pilgrim from Chapter 5 on a later run.
- NEOWIZ’s version 1.10.0.0 notes mention a fix for a rare issue that prevented some players from accessing Overture. The notes establish that the issue existed and was fixed; they do not describe a universal workaround for every missing trigger.
Do not confuse Overture with the boss-replay modes
Battle Memories and Death March are separate features, not the expansion unlock. Both become available after you finish the main story and reach one ending, and can then be accessed through the Hotel Stargazer. Battle Memories lets you replay defeated bosses; Death March is a sequence of at least three bosses with limited HP and items. These modes were introduced in the launch patch.
What Overture adds
NEOWIZ describes Overture as a prequel set in Krat before the Puppet Frenzy massacre, following the Legendary Stalker Lea. The expansion adds new areas, enemies, bosses, weapon combinations, and Legion Arms; its official DLC page outlines the setting and armaments.
