To solve the Painting Workshop puzzle, enter its three portal routes, find the Faceless Boy in each, and collect the Light, Colour, and Shape of the Beast. Place all three parts in the statue at the shared hub to open the way to the Lampmaster. At least one route requires swimming, and the floating-island route is intended for after you unlock flight.
How the Painting Workshop puzzle works
The portals lead to separate platforming routes that all connect to one central workshop hub. In each route, reach the painting platform and speak to the Faceless Boy. Agree to help him and collect the Beast part he gives you. You can place parts in the statue as you find them or return with all three and insert them together.

The required pieces are the Light of the Beast, Colour of the Beast, and Shape of the Beast. The portal-to-piece numbering differs between walkthroughs, so use the landmarks and the part names rather than relying on a numbered entrance order. GamesRecon’s walkthrough lists the parts and route locations; Areajugones’ guide uses a different route/order labeling.
Find the three portal routes
Island northeast of Stone Wave Cliffs
Look for a portal on an island northeast of Stone Wave Cliffs. Reaching this area requires Esquie’s swimming ability. Follow the route’s platforms to the painting, then speak to the Faceless Boy and take the Beast part he offers.

Northwest of Forgotten Battlefield
Another portal is northwest of Forgotten Battlefield and south of Monoco’s Station. Traverse its platforming path to the painting and collect the next part from the Faceless Boy.
Floating island east of Sirene
The remaining portal sits on a floating island east of Sirene, near Sinister Cave. This route is intended for after you unlock flight. Reach the painting and collect the final Beast part.

Place the Beast parts and open the arena
- Return to the central workshop hub after collecting the three parts.
- Interact with the statue and place the Light, Colour, and Shape of the Beast. You may insert them individually or all at once.
- When all three are in place, the barrier behind the statue breaks. Cross the gap to reach the Lampmaster arena.
Counter the Lampmaster’s Sword of Light
During the Sword of Light sequence, watch the floating lamps and note the order in which they appear. Use Free Aim to shoot the lamps in that same order. Dizzy can disrupt your aim, while Blight reduces your maximum health, so account for those effects if they are active.

Rewards and what to do after the fight
GamesRecon lists these rewards for defeating the Lampmaster: At Death’s Door Picto, Energising Attack I Picto, three Grandiose Chroma Catalysts, and a Recoat. The Faceless Boy near the exit also gives a Perfect Chroma Catalyst.
There may be more to the surrounding mystery after the boss. Areajugones describes a continuation in which you obtain the Family Portrait in The Canvas and place it in the Manor to open a secret area containing an Unknown Journal. Treat that as a post-boss thread rather than a requirement for opening the Lampmaster arena.
