The most widely documented way to move a Minecraft Bedrock world between devices is to upload it to a Minecraft Realm on the device that has it, then download it on the other device using the same Microsoft account. This requires an active Realms trial or subscription, and Minecraft should be updated on both devices. Android also supports a manual file-copy route for worlds saved to External storage; Xbox has its own cloud-save system. The right method depends on your source and destination devices.
Choose a transfer method for your devices

If you are moving between an iPhone, Android, PC, or console combination not covered by the specific routes below, use Realms as the documented general option rather than assuming a local file or console cloud-save method will work.
Transfer a world with Minecraft Realms
Realms moves a world through a Realm slot: upload from the source device, then download the uploaded world on the destination. The downloaded world is a separate local copy, not a merge with the original. Menu names and locations can vary with Minecraft versions, so look for the upload, replace, and download functions if the labels differ.
- Prepare both devices. Make sure Minecraft is updated on each device and that you have an active Realms trial or paid subscription.
- Upload from the source device. Open Minecraft and select Play, then Realms. Choose the Realm and slot to use. Select Upload World for an empty slot, or Replace World if you intend to replace the slot’s current world. Check the selected slot before confirming: replacing it changes the world currently active in that slot.
- Sign in on the destination device. Launch Minecraft and use the same Microsoft account used to access the Realm.
- Download the uploaded world. Go to Play → Realms, select the Realm and uploaded slot, then choose Download World. In another documented route, open the Realm Hub, choose World and Slots, use the three-dot menu beside Edit World, and select Download World. Transfer instructions and Realm download instructions describe these controls.
- Open the local copy. Find the downloaded world in the destination device’s Worlds list. Minecraft’s transfer guide says its name includes “- Copy”; rename it if you want.
Copy an Android world without Realms
Android manual copying is available only when the world’s File Storage Location is set to External. If the world is stored in Application storage, Minecraft keeps it inside app data rather than as a separately accessible world file; Minecraft Help directs those users to the Realms transfer method. - Connect the Android device to a computer using a USB cable that supports data transfer.
- On the phone, select File Transfer or MTP when prompted.
- On the computer, browse to
Android/data/com.mojang.minecraftpe/files/games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds. - Copy the
minecraftWorldsfolder or the folder for the individual world, then move it to the destination supported by the other Android device.
Access to Android/data can depend on the Android version and file manager. This method is specifically for Android file access; it is not an iPhone, console, or universal Bedrock export procedure.
What Xbox cloud saves do—and do not do
On Xbox, Minecraft automatically saves the most recent worlds to the cloud when the console is online and the player is signed in; saves are associated with the Microsoft account. A world created offline is backed up the first time it is played online. A world that is not played remains on the console until it is backed up. These behaviors are specific to Xbox cloud saves, as explained in Minecraft Help’s transfer guide.

In Minecraft’s Manage Worlds area, check whether a world is cloud-synced, cloud-only, or local-only. The available actions include Upload to cloud for a local-only world and Download from cloud for a cloud-only world. This Xbox synchronization should not be treated as a way to export a world from Xbox to a different platform.

Confirm that the destination copy opens before deleting the source world or resetting its device. Before choosing Replace World, inspect the Realm slot so you do not overwrite a different world. Where the platform allows it, keep a separate backup: the cited transfer and backup instructions do not promise that every transfer can be reversed without one.

Minecraft Help says Realm progress is automatically saved every 30 minutes, when you select Save & Quit, and whenever you disconnect from the Realm. It also states that only the four most recent saves are retained, with older backups kept at decreasing intervals; no saves are retained from 122 or more days ago. A Realm world can be downloaded within 18 months after subscription expiry, while its associated backups are deleted 30 days after expiry. These are the published terms in Minecraft Help’s Realm backup article; service policies can change.
