Hover over a tab in the mezzanine to reveal it temporarily, or right-click an empty area of the toolbar or mezzanine and turn off Collapse toolbar to keep it visible. If only one tab—such as Home or Model—is missing, use Manage tabs instead.
First, identify what is missing
Roblox Studio’s toolbar sits at the top of the window and displays tools for the active tab. The mezzanine is the area containing the tabs and other controls. The distinction matters: a collapsed toolbar leaves the mezzanine visible, while hiding a tab removes only that tab from the row. A compact toolbar is smaller, but still visible. Roblox Creator Hub’s Studio interface documentation describes these controls.
- No tools beneath the tabs: the toolbar may be collapsed.
- One tab is absent, but other tabs and tools remain: that tab may be hidden.
- The toolbar is present but smaller: Compact toolbar may be selected.
Show a collapsed toolbar
- Hover over a tab in the mezzanine. The toolbar should appear temporarily.
- To keep it open, right-click an empty area of the mezzanine or toolbar.
- Click Collapse toolbar to turn the setting off. The toolbar should remain visible.
Roblox documents that collapsing hides the toolbar while leaving the mezzanine visible; hovering over a mezzanine tab temporarily reveals the toolbar.
Restore a missing tab
- Right-click an empty area of the mezzanine or toolbar.
- Choose Manage tabs.
- Make the missing tab visible in the tab-management dialog.
The default tool tabs are Home, Model, Avatar, UI, Script, and Plugins. The Manage tabs dialog can also reorder tabs and adjust their alignment.

Check compact mode and labels
If the toolbar is visible but looks different, right-click an empty area of the toolbar or mezzanine and check the toolbar options. Compact toolbar reduces the toolbar’s size; it does not hide it. Show labels controls whether text labels appear beneath tools.

The official interface documentation explains collapsing the toolbar and managing tabs, but does not document a general layout reset or repair procedure. It therefore does not establish that resetting a layout or reinstalling Studio will fix a missing toolbar. Roblox Studio is available for Windows and Mac, and the interface instructions are presented without separate operating-system steps. Studio’s UI may change as the application is updated.
