Choose the quest for your faction

Blizzard names these quests and contacts in its catch-up guidance. This is a BfA feature you are unlocking while playing the later expansion; it is not the Dragonflight World Quest unlock.
First-time unlock: practical checklist
For a character making the first BfA World Quest unlock, the available guidance points to these requirements. The full set is not consolidated in a current official checklist, so verify what your quest log and faction hub still need.
- Reach level 60. This is the level requirement reported for the Dragonflight-era Uniting quest. Do not use the level-120 requirement from BfA launch-era guides; it belongs to the old level system.
- Obtain the Heart of Azeroth. The reported checklist points to the short quest chain beginning with A Dying World.
- Complete all three War Campaign footholds. These are the foothold quests in the opposing faction’s territories.
- Reach Friendly with the three major factions on your home continent. For Alliance, these are the Kul Tiras factions; for Horde, the Zandalar factions. This reputation requirement is documented in a BfA guide last updated in 2021.
- Complete your faction’s Uniting quest. Check the appropriate quest giver in Boralus or Dazar’alor and turn in the quest when available.
The level, Heart of Azeroth and foothold details come from a Blizzard forum response about the Alliance quest, while the Friendly reputation condition is described in a Wowhead BfA World Quest guide. Treat this as a practical route rather than a guarantee that every requirement appears identically on every character.

If another character has already unlocked BfA World Quests
Blizzard describes a shorter alternate-character path: speak to Halford Wyrmbane in Boralus as Alliance or Nathanos Blightcaller at the Dazar’alor mission table as Horde, then complete the matching Uniting quest. The guidance does not specify that every earlier prerequisite is waived in every account state, so check the quest tracker if the quest is not offered.
Why old guides say level 120
BfA launched under a different level system, and its original guide discusses World Quests in the level-120 environment. Dragonflight-era character progression uses a different scale; the reported requirement for the Uniting quest is level 60. The old level-120 figure is historical, not the current level gate. Blizzard’s Dragonflight guide places the Dragonflight questline at level 60, while its BfA-era guide reflects the original level context.

If you cannot find the quest
- Confirm you are looking in the correct faction hub: Boralus for Alliance, Dazar’alor for Horde.
- Check the quest tracker and campaign progression for an unfinished Heart of Azeroth, foothold, or reputation requirement.
- If this is an alt and another character has completed the unlock, visit the contact Blizzard lists for your faction rather than relying on an old level-120 guide.
- Progression can affect quest visibility. Blizzard’s catch-up article documents the alt contacts, while the requirements beyond that are supported by older or forum guidance rather than a single current official checklist.
