You can get the Adragan Heart in Avowed without fighting the Delemgan Queen: cross the bridge into the Delemgan Glade, avoid killing enemies, and reach her area without being in combat. The safest documented stealth route uses the path on the right, tall grass, and patrol timing.
How to reach the Delemgan Queen without starting the fight
- Cross the bridge into the Delemgan Glade. From this point onward, do not kill enemies if you want to preserve the peaceful approach. Game8 advises running through the area instead of fighting; PC Gamer likewise recommends leaving enemies alive after the bridge. Game8’s Delemgan Queen guide and PC Gamer’s stealth-route walkthrough describe this approach.
- Take the route on the right and crouch through tall grass. Watch the enemy patrols and wait for the Queen’s Shield patrol to turn before moving onward, as PC Gamer advises.
- Approach the Queen without active combat. The walkthrough for The Animancy Method says that entering her area without being engaged can lead to a civil conversation, after which she gives you the Adragan Heart. Entering while fighting triggers the boss encounter.
Can Shadowing Beyond help?
Yes. If your character has Shadowing Beyond, it offers another way to pass through enemies without engaging them. An Xbox Wire preview of Avowed demonstrates using the ability to reach a peaceful conversation with the Queen. It is an alternative, not a requirement for the stealth route.
What if combat starts before you reach her?
The documented distinction is your combat state when you enter the Queen’s area: approaching without active combat supports the conversation, while arriving during combat starts the boss fight. If you want to avoid the encounter, keep moving without attacking and use cover and patrol timing. The available guides do not establish what happens in every edge case, such as companion aggro or returning after previously exploring the glade, so do not rely on a partial clear being safe.
If you decide to fight instead
Game8’s boss guide recommends controlling the Queen and defeating the Grovetender before turning your attention back to the Queen. That advice is for players who choose combat or whose peaceful approach has failed; it is not needed to obtain the heart through the conversation.
