Manage saved billing details on PS5 at Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods. Choose a payment type to link it, or select a saved method and follow the on-screen option to remove it. PayPal and other payment options depend on your PlayStation Store country or region.
How to add a credit or debit card on PS5
- On the PS5 home screen, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods.
- Select Credit/Debit Card.
- If prompted, scan the QR code with a mobile device to continue there, or choose the controller-entry option.
- Enter the card details, continue to the billing-address screen, then enter and save the address.
PlayStation allows up to three saved credit or debit cards per account. Card details entered while shopping on the PlayStation Store are saved to the account too. See PlayStation’s card setup guide and its payment management guide.
How to link PayPal on PS5
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods.
- Select PayPal Account.
- Follow the prompts to sign in to PayPal and link the account.
PayPal is not available in every PlayStation Store region. Check the payment options supported for your account’s region before linking; PlayStation’s PayPal guide also notes regional availability.
How to remove a saved payment method
On PS5, open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods, select the saved card or PayPal account, then use the remove action shown on screen. Labels and controls can vary by region, so follow the console’s prompt rather than expecting one universal button name.

You can also remove a method in a browser: sign in to Account Management, open Payment Method, select the saved method, and choose Remove. The console and browser routes are described in PlayStation’s payment management guide.
Why payment options differ by region
PlayStation Store payment methods are tied to the country or region of the account. A card issued or registered in a different country from the Store region may not link, and the accepted options are not the same worldwide. For example, PlayStation’s US list includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Cash App Pay; that list applies to the US, not every region. Check the accepted methods page for your own Store region: Payment methods accepted on PlayStation Store (US).

Adult accounts have an online wallet that can be funded with a registered payment method or PlayStation gift card, and wallet funds can be used for Store purchases. Child accounts cannot add payment methods or wallet funds. They can make purchases using the family manager’s wallet, subject to the family spending limit; on the US page, that limit defaults to zero when a child account is created. - Regional compatibility: Confirm the card type is accepted for the PlayStation Store region on the account. A card associated with another country may fail; use a compatible payment option or a wallet top-up code instead.
- Online payments: Check with the card provider that online payments are enabled.
- Details and address: Recheck the card information and make sure the billing address matches the issuer’s records. If the name or address includes special characters the form does not accept, PlayStation suggests trying basic Latin letters and omitting characters such as hyphens or apostrophes.
- Service availability: Check PlayStation service status and retry when services are available.
- Repeated update attempts: If a message says payment details were updated too often, wait 24 hours before trying again. Attempts made during the wait restart the 24-hour block.
- Issuer blocks: If the card still fails, ask the bank or card issuer to confirm the card is activated, has available funds, and has not been blocked. Contact PlayStation Support if the issuer finds no issue.
