To unlock a Corvette in No Man’s Sky, collect a Corvette module or interact with a Corvette Workshop; either action starts the first-build tutorial. Then visit a Corvette Workshop aboard a Space Station and use the structural modules you have gathered to assemble a pilotable, habitable ship. You do not need to complete the Corvette Expedition for the normal build route.
How do you unlock a Corvette?
- Trigger the tutorial. Collect any Corvette module or interact with a Corvette Workshop. Hello Games says either action activates the lightweight tutorial for assembling your first Corvette in its Voyagers Update 6.0 notes.
- Find the Workshop. Go to a Space Station and use its Corvette Workshop terminal. The Workshop combines collected modules into a ship, sells basic modules, and provides a barter interface for advanced modules.
- Gather parts and assemble. Collect the structural modules you want, then use the Workshop to build your Corvette. The official notes do not give a complete first-build parts list, exact costs, or platform-specific button sequence, so those details may vary with your build choices and current game version.
A Corvette is assembled from modules through the Workshop, rather than claimed through the ordinary starship purchase process.
Where can you find Corvette modules?
Hello Games lists buried salvage containers on planets and Derelict Freighters as module sources. The update also identifies defeated pirates, freighter cargo pods, crashed freighter crates, frigate expeditions, and mission rewards as possible sources.
Do you have to do the Corvette Expedition?
No. Voyagers introduced a time-limited Corvette Expedition as a guided, accelerated way to reach a first build and earn expedition rewards. The regular Workshop-and-module route is documented separately, so the Expedition is optional for constructing a Corvette. Because expeditions rotate, check the in-game Expedition terminal or current official patch notes to see whether one is available now. The Hello Games release log records a Holiday Expeditions 2025 redux, but that historical listing does not confirm its current availability.

What changed for Corvette parts in later updates?
The later Expedition Twenty: Breach update added wreck scavenging as another way to obtain Corvette pieces, including rare vertical modules. It also added a Workshop option to apply a colour palette to the whole Corvette. These options expand part collection and customization; they do not replace the standard Workshop assembly route.
