XboxAchievements lists 45 base-game achievements; its combined Xbox list adds 10 for The Order of Giants, for 55 total. Steam also lists 55 achievements, but counts and DLC inclusion can differ by platform, so check the live achievement or trophy list for your edition before treating that number as universal. This guide separates the base game from the expansion and flags the DLC’s reported Journal-note counter discrepancy.
Spoiler note: The route below names story milestones, locations, and optional objectives, but does not recount the plot. The Xbox achievement details cited here come from a community-maintained guide, not official publisher documentation.
Decide what “all achievements” means for your copy
You can pursue the base-game list alone or add the optional The Order of Giants expansion. XboxAchievements reports 45 base-game achievements and 10 DLC achievements in its combined Xbox list. Steam lists 55 achievements, but that matching total does not establish identical platform lists or DLC requirements. Verify the achievement or trophy list shown for your platform and edition before using a count as a completion target. XboxAchievements’ list and guide and the Steam store listing are useful reference points.
The Order of Giants requires the base game. Bethesda’s product page distinguishes Premium Edition, which includes the base game and DLC, from Premium Upgrade, which includes DLC and extras but requires the base game separately. Platform and physical availability vary by region. Check the official Indiana Jones page for current platform and edition details.

#1 Best Overall
- STANDARD EDITION CONTENT — Includes the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle base game.
- BECOME INDIANA JONES — Play as the famed archaeologist in a first-person, single-player adventure set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
- A WORLD OF MYSTERY — Travel from Marshall College to the Vatican, Egypt, and Sukhothai as you investigate an ancient power, meet intriguing characters, and solve riddles.
- WHIP-CRACKING ACTION — Use Indy’s trademark whip to distract, disarm, and attack enemies, swing over patrols, and scale walls. Combine stealth, melee combat, and gunplay to face the enemy threat.
- THE SPIRIT OF DISCOVERY — Move between linear, narrative-driven gameplay and open-area maps as you uncover secrets, avoid deadly traps, and solve fiendish puzzles.
Use a low-friction route through the base game
The base list mixes story progress with exploration, collectibles, side activities, camera tasks, and abilities learned from Adventure Books. A practical route is to keep progressing naturally, pick up useful exploration aids in each region, and return for cleanup after you have access to the relevant areas.
- Advance the campaign and available fieldwork. Several achievements are tied to story milestones, including “The Golden Idol,” “The Break-In,” “The Stolen Cat Mummy,” “The Idol of Ra,” “A Harsh Climb,” “Into the Fire,” “The Blessed Pearl,” and “Atonements.” These are described as story-linked in the XboxAchievements guide.
- Explore hubs as you reach them. Buy regional artifact or exploration guides where available to mark collectibles on maps. Gather Journal notes and photographs, and complete mysteries and regional challenges while exploring rather than leaving every optional task for the end.
- Learn abilities, not just collect books. Adventure Book achievements track abilities learned. Spend Adventure Points in the book menu; owning or finding a book alone does not satisfy the requirement.
- Return for missed goals after story progress. XboxAchievements says base-game achievements are not missable because fast travel lets players revisit earlier areas, and says difficulty does not affect them. Treat these as the guide’s reported findings rather than an official guarantee.
What the base-game achievements ask you to do
Use the achievement descriptions as a checklist. The named examples below illustrate the main kinds of work; they are not a substitute for checking the complete live list on your platform.
Story milestones
Story-linked achievements unlock as you reach specified campaign points. If one does not appear when expected, continue the story and confirm that the relevant milestone is complete before beginning a broad collectible search.

- An all-new story chapter takes Indiana Jones to the ancient streets of Rome where forgotten catacombs twist into something far more sinister. Indy must outwit a dangerous cult and decipher intricate puzzles designed by emperors to uncover the dark legacy of the Nephilim giants.
- MYSTERIES OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE AWAIT When Indiana Jones encounters Father Ricci, a young priest desperate for help to track down a Roman artifact, a standard treasure hunt soon turns into a perilous journey. Along the way Indy must face the sinister plots of Emperor Nero and his gladiator games, the enigmatic Cult of Mithras, and whatever else lurks in the shadows. Can Father Ricci's cryptic knowledge guide Indy through these treacherous passageways? Only Indiana Jones can piece together this breathtaking mystery.
- EXPLORE THE SHADOWS OF ROME Danger awaits as The Order of Giants takes Indiana Jones beyond the walls of Vatican City and into a brand new open-area map in the bustling city of Rome. Adventure through the crumbling ruins of the Colosseum to the pristine Vatican Gardens. The mystery will also take you into Rome’s ancient sewer system, the Cloaca Maxima, and deeper below ground to foreboding crypts.
- A DANGEROUS CULT The secretive, centuries old Cultists of Mithras are everywhere, striking from the shadows. Their dark red robes reflect the blood oaths to their cause, and they’re willing to kill or die to protect the ancient power they serve.
Adventure Book abilities
“Literary Bug” requires learning one ability, “Bookworm” requires ten, and “Bookman” requires learning all abilities from Adventure Books. The XboxAchievements guide specifies 44 books for the base-game Bookman requirement. Find the books, then spend Adventure Points to learn their abilities in the book menu.
Journal notes and photographs
“Field Survey” requires 50 Journal notes, while “Shutterbug” requires 50 Journal photographs. Document discoveries and photograph required subjects; simply using the camera on arbitrary scenery is not established as sufficient by the guide.
Regional exploration and artifacts
“Beneath the Surface” calls for solving all Sukhothai mysteries. “Shadows out of Time” requires all Ancient Relics, and “Repatriation” requires returning all Lost Artifacts. Regional artifact guides can help show what remains to collect.

Watch the Roman Scholar note count
The guide warns that “Roman Scholar” requires 61 Adventure Notes even though the in-game tracker may appear to show 60. If the achievement remains locked after the tracker looks complete, use a verified full-note list or route and revisit Rome to find the missing entry. This 61-versus-60 discrepancy is a community-guide report, not an official counter explanation. See the guide’s Roman Scholar warning.
Plan the final cleanup
- Check the platform-specific list for the exact remaining achievement or trophy descriptions.
- For base-game cleanup, fast-travel back to earlier regions and use their maps and Journal entries to identify missing work, as recommended by XboxAchievements.
- For Bookman or Books of Power, verify that the abilities are learned, not merely that the books have been collected.
- For Journal totals, inspect the relevant regional entries and photograph required subjects rather than relying on an overall camera-use count.
- If pursuing DLC completion, treat Rome’s notes, artifacts, abilities, mysteries, and Via Giulia cat interaction as distinct tasks.
Platform and edition checks
Bethesda currently lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game is a first-person, single-player adventure set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, according to its Steam listing. The available platform list does not by itself establish achievement or trophy parity. On PlayStation or Switch 2, check the live platform list and your DLC entitlement rather than assuming Xbox’s 45-plus-10 breakdown applies unchanged.
