To turn on aim assist in Fortnite, open Settings > Controller options > Sensitivity, enable Use Advanced Options, choose an Aim Assist strength, then select Apply. Epic notes that settings availability can vary by platform.
Turn on aim assist in Fortnite
- Launch Fortnite and open the in-game menu.
- Select Settings.
- Open Controller options, then go to Sensitivity.
- Turn Use Advanced Options on.
- Set Aim Assist or Aim Assist Strength to your preferred amount.
- Select Apply to save the change.
Epic’s setup instructions call the control “Aim Assist,” while its troubleshooting page calls it “Aim Assist Strength.” Labels may differ by platform or game version. See Epic’s aim assist settings instructions.
Choose an aim assist strength
Set the strength to the amount you prefer. Epic’s troubleshooting guidance suggests checking that it is at 100%, or using a lower value if you prefer; 100% is a troubleshooting check, not a required setting. Epic’s HUD and aim assist troubleshooting guidance also says to check the setting after enabling Advanced Options.

If aim assist is missing or does not work
- Advanced Options is off: Return to Settings > Controller options > Sensitivity and enable Use Advanced Options to reveal the aim assist control.
- Gyro is active: Epic says aim assist is disabled whenever gyro is active.
- The setting is unavailable: Epic cautions that not every setting is available on every platform. Its support guidance does not provide a full platform-by-platform availability list, so the option may not appear identically on every device or input mode.
- The change did not stick: Adjust the strength and select Apply.
