Rakshasa is an optional boss in the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum. The safest approach is to stop trading hits: evade her jumping attack, get clear of her advancing sweep combo, and punish her recovery. If you are comfortable parrying, most of her ordinary attacks can be parried; otherwise, bait an attack, let it miss, then counter while she recovers. Prepare for bleed buildup and watch for a possible heal attempt.

Where to find Rakshasa

Rakshasa waits in the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum in Scadu Altus, along the Recluse(s)’ River. From the Recluses’ River Downstream Site of Grace, follow the river and descend the stone platforms beside the waterfall to reach a cave. The cave leads east to the mausoleum. PowerPyx’s boss guide describes the river approach.

A longer route starts at Shadow Keep: use the eastern ladder from the battlements to reach the moat, enter the room with a painting and strike the illusory wall, then ride the coffin to the Ruins of Unte. Follow the river to Recluses’ River Downstream, descend the platforms beside the waterfall, and take the northern cave east to the mausoleum. GamesRadar+’s route guide provides this sequence.

How to beat Rakshasa

Prepare for physical hits and bleed

Her attacks build bleed. If you are dying before you can learn her patterns, prioritize equipment that improves damage protection and bring anti-bleed protection if you have it. The guides do not establish a required level or a specific stat spread, so there is no evidence-based minimum to target. EIP Gaming’s Rakshasa guide covers her bleed buildup and defensive preparation.

Escape the advancing sweep combo

When Rakshasa stomps her left foot, expect repeated side-to-side slashes as she advances. Do not try to force a heavy hit through the sequence: it cannot be interrupted that way. Roll backward out of range until the combo ends, or parry a swing if that is a reliable part of your play. The goal is to avoid trading damage during the entire sequence, not to stagger her midway through it. EIP Gaming identifies this tell and response.

Parry ordinary attacks, but dodge the jump

According to EIP Gaming, almost all of Rakshasa’s attacks can be parried; the jumping power attack is the exception. If you already parry consistently, use that option against ordinary swings and avoid trying it on the jump. Dodge the jumping attack, then take a quick punish while she recovers. Heavy attacks can stagger her between attacks, but do not confuse that opening with permission to interrupt the sustained sweep combo.

For a non-parry plan, bait and punish

Keep enough distance to make her commit to an attack, evade it, and strike during the recovery. PowerPyx recommends this attack-miss-counter rhythm, while EIP Gaming advises jumping power attacks in the gaps and cautions against getting greedy. One or two safe hits are better than being caught by the next swing.

Cast only in the gaps

Rakshasa has no ranged attacks of her own, but she can still punish a slow cast if you give her time to close in. Use faster spells after one of her attacks misses, then return to evading rather than trying to cast through her pressure. EIP Gaming and PowerPyx both recommend attacking after her moves rather than during them.

React to a possible heal

Rakshasa may try to heal during the fight. GamesRadar+ describes the attempt as occurring around half health, but this should be treated as an approximate opportunity, not a guaranteed threshold. If you see her begin the animation, attack quickly to interrupt it; otherwise, keep following your normal evade-and-punish rhythm. EIP Gaming also notes that Tarnished bosses can heal once.

Are lightning or other damage types especially effective?

The available guides disagree about Rakshasa’s weaknesses and resistances. EIP Gaming says she has no particular weaknesses or immunities, while a Tarnished Wiki search result reports a lightning weakness and resistance to poison, scarlet rot, hemorrhage, and frostbite. Because those claims conflict and the Wiki page was not available for full inspection, treat the elemental claims as unconfirmed rather than building your strategy around them. A reported lightning weakness is not established here as a reliable exploit.

What do you get for defeating Rakshasa?

Defeating this optional boss awards 90,000 runes, Rakshasa’s Great Katana, and the Rakshasa Set, according to PowerPyx and EIP Gaming.
