A community balance is built from eligible community earnings, such as clothing sales or revenue from a group-owned experience. The Revenue and Payouts controls let authorized members manage or distribute funds the community has already earned.
Can you add purchased Robux to a Roblox group?
Roblox’s support guidance does not describe a way to transfer Robux bought on an individual account—or Robux redeemed from a gift card—into a community balance. Roblox distinguishes direct purchases and gift-card redemptions from Earned Robux, so they are not a documented community-funding method. See Roblox’s community revenue and payout guidance and its Earned Robux guidance.
Roblox’s current help pages use “community” where older instructions may say “group.” Look for the community’s Store tab and Community Admin Page.
How can a Roblox community earn funds?
Roblox documents two routes that credit eligible revenue to the community. Neither is a deposit: Robux accrues when people buy community items or when a group-owned experience earns revenue.

| Route | What earns Robux | Where it goes | What’s involved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Community clothing | Sales of eligible community clothing, including T-shirts, shirts, and pants | Directly to the community, regardless of which member created the item | Create or manage items from the community’s Store tab; items must follow Roblox content rules. Roblox support |
| Group-owned experience | Sales or ads in an experience owned by the group | To the group, regardless of who created the experience | Members need the appropriate permissions to create or edit group experiences. Roblox support |
Roblox’s cited pages do not establish comparable earning rates or processing times, so they don’t support ranking one route as more profitable or faster.
Earn through community clothing
- Open the community’s Store tab.
- Select “Create or manage community items.”
- Create eligible clothing and make it available for sale, following Roblox’s content rules.
Roblox says revenue from these sales goes to the community even if a member other than the owner created the item. See Roblox’s clothing and community revenue guidance.

Earn through a group-owned experience
Eligible sales or advertising revenue from an experience owned by the group is applied to the group. A member who needs to create or edit the experience must have the required permissions. Roblox explains community management and permissions here.
What do Revenue and Payouts do?
The Revenue section of the Community Admin Page tracks community earnings and payouts. Payout controls distribute existing community funds to members through one-time or recurring payouts; Roblox does not describe them as a way to move Robux from a personal account into the community. For the current payout flow, follow the payout instructions linked from Roblox’s revenue and payouts support page.

Why can’t you see community revenue or payout controls?
Access depends on your role. The owner can assign the “Spend Community Funds” permission. Owners and members with that permission can access revenue information and payout controls; role permissions distinguish viewing revenue from managing and spending it. If the controls are missing, check your role’s permissions or ask the community owner to review them. See Roblox’s community role and permission guidance.
Roblox also periodically verifies funds to prevent fraud and abuse. Payout functionality may be unavailable while verification is underway. Roblox says group payouts count as Earned Robux only when the community funds are bona fide earnings, and it checks funds for validity. Read Roblox’s Earned Robux guidance.
