To rotate a building in MineColonies, open its placement preview with the Building Tool and click the orange curved-arrow controls to turn it left or right. Inspect the outline, then select the green check mark to place it or the red X to cancel. Rotation is separate from mirroring, and rotating a completed building is not confirmed as a safe, simple in-place operation.

Rotate a building before placing it

  1. Put the relevant hut or building block in your inventory, then right-click the block at the location where you want the preview. The interface shows the available building levels, decorations, or custom schematics for the selected category.

  2. Click the orange curved arrows in the placement GUI to rotate the preview left or right. The documentation does not specify a keyboard shortcut or how many degrees each click turns the structure, so use the visible controls rather than relying on an assumed keybind.

  3. Adjust the position and shape as needed. The blue arrows nudge the preview, the orange plus and minus controls raise or lower it, and the orange triangles mirror it. Mirroring changes the layout’s handedness; it is not the same as rotating.

After placing a hut or building block

Placing a hut or building block establishes its position and orientation, but it may not start construction by itself. Open the hut’s GUI and confirm the Build action to send the builder’s work order. For a decoration or custom schematic, the Building Tool guide says that confirming placement sends the build order.

Can you rotate a building that is already built?

The Builder’s Hut documentation describes a Reposition option that opens the Building Tool’s 3D view and allows a building to be moved. It does not establish that repositioning safely rotates a completed structure, preserves stored contents, or avoids deconstruction. The implementation’s use of rotation and mirror state when preparing a blueprint is not a player-facing guarantee about what happens to an existing building. Do not assume a completed hut can be turned in place without consequences.

Town Hall relocation is a separate case

The Town Hall guidance says its block can be broken and placed again with the Build Tool to move the actual Town Hall within the already-set protected area. That instruction is specific to relocating the Town Hall; it is not a general method for rotating every hut.

Rotate a supply camp or ship

Supply camps and ships use the same basic preview interaction: right-click to show the 3D preview, use the curved arrows to rotate it, inspect the outline and location, then select the green check to place it. A ship needs a water area at least one block larger than its build area.

Version and interface notes

These instructions follow the MineColonies project wiki. Its pages have version selectors, but the referenced guidance does not identify a specific Minecraft or MineColonies release. If your interface differs, look for the curved-arrow rotation controls in the placement preview; the documentation does not establish a keyboard shortcut.
