The answer depends on what you mean by “100%”: base-game achievements, or the broader achievement list that includes additional content.
What the 20–25-hour estimate covers
TrueSteamAchievements estimates 20–25 hours to complete all 36 base-game achievements. The site says the estimate is based on the modal completion time reported by 66 members. It is a community estimate, not a controlled playtime test or a guarantee for an individual player.

The estimate excludes DLC. Use it as a planning figure for the base-game achievement set, not as a total for every achievement on every platform.
Why “100%” can take longer than finishing the campaign
Completing the campaign is only one part of an achievement-focused run. Steam’s achievement list includes campaign completion alongside tasks such as finding collectibles, earning runes, and multiplayer progression. A community guide’s broader 100% scope also covers weapon mods, suit upgrades, Arcade, multiplayer, SnapMap, and the three DLC packs.

Those categories involve different activities, so a campaign-only completion and a full achievement sweep are not interchangeable. The time also depends on whether you are following a base-game or DLC-inclusive target.
How to plan a completion run
Choose the scope first
Decide whether your target is the 36 base-game achievements in the TrueSteamAchievements estimate or a broader set that includes DLC. Steam lists 54 achievements for DOOM, but that count should not be treated as proof that the 20–25-hour estimate covers all 54.

Use mission replay for cleanup
The Steam Community 100% Achievement Guide says completed missions can be replayed on the same save, and that progress is saved after reaching a checkpoint or finishing a mission. The guide also recommends consulting a collectibles guide for some location-dependent tasks. These are guide-author tips, rather than official game documentation.
Account for modes beyond the campaign
If your definition includes every task described in that guide, account for Arcade, multiplayer, SnapMap, and DLC as well as campaign objectives and collectibles. The Steam store names three premium DLC packs: Unto the Evil, Hell Followed, and Bloodfall.
