How to redeem a PlayStation Plus code
Sign in to the PlayStation account you want to receive the membership or trial. Standard PlayStation Store voucher codes contain 12 digits. Sony’s interface can change, so if a label differs, use the current Store menu. See PlayStation’s voucher redemption instructions.

On the web
- Open PlayStation Store and select the profile menu.
- Choose Redeem Code, enter the 12-digit code, and select Continue.
On PS5
- Open PlayStation Store and press the triangle button to open its menu.
- Choose … (More) > Redeem Code, enter the code, and select Redeem.
On PS4
- Open PlayStation Store and scroll to the bottom of the sidebar.
- Select Redeem Codes, enter the code, and confirm.
In the PlayStation App
- Open the PS Store area and open its menu.
- Select Redeem Code, enter the code, and continue.
Is a 14-day free trial available to every account?
No. PlayStation’s U.S. PlayStation Plus Usage Terms say a free trial may be available when offered in the user’s country or region. They state that each person is eligible for one free trial unless PlayStation communicates otherwise, and additional restrictions may apply. The terms also require a registered credit or debit card or PayPal account for a U.S. free trial; payment-method requirements can vary by country.
An older PlayStation Sweden membership guide described a 14-day trial for people who had never been members, but that regional, older information does not establish a current offer for every account. Check the offer shown in your own PlayStation Store account and your local PlayStation terms. If no trial appears, review your account’s past membership and transaction history; contact PlayStation Support if you believe you qualify.

Will PlayStation charge you after the trial?
Yes, unless you cancel before the trial period ends. PlayStation’s U.S. terms state that the subscription “will automatically roll into an ongoing subscription with a recurring subscription fee charged automatically at the frequency you choose when you sign up for the trial.” The price and billing frequency are the ones shown for your offer and can vary by region.
Note the renewal date and price before you accept the offer. If you do not want a paid renewal, cancel in your subscription settings before the trial ends. PlayStation says you can continue using the benefits until the last day of the trial even if you cancel earlier.

What to check before redeeming a code
- Region: The voucher’s region must match the region of the PlayStation account.
- Account: Codes can be used only once, and content cannot be transferred between accounts. Redeem on the intended account.
- Expiration and terms: Check that the code has not expired and read any payment-method or renewal conditions attached to it.
- Code type: A 10-digit code is a discount code, not a standard voucher code. A PlayStation Store wallet gift card adds wallet funds; it does not itself grant a Plus trial.
A PlayStation Plus subscription voucher grants the plan and payment period stated on the voucher. Depending on your existing membership, redemption may start a membership, upgrade a lower plan, add time to the same plan, or convert the voucher’s value into time on a higher plan. Why a PlayStation Plus code may not work
- Re-enter the code carefully and check its expiration date.
- Confirm that the voucher region matches your account region.
- Check PlayStation service status; if services are operating normally, sign out and back in, then try again.
- Some subscription vouchers require a valid payment method. Check the offer’s terms and your account’s payment settings.
- If the code still fails, follow PlayStation’s voucher troubleshooting guide or contact PlayStation Support. Do not post or share the code when asking for help.
Trial offer or paid voucher: what are you buying?
Before paying for a code advertised as a “trial,” confirm whether it is actually a membership voucher or a Store wallet card. Compare the exact membership tier and duration, account and region eligibility, expiration and single-use status, payment-method requirements, and whether the offer renews into a paid subscription. Wallet credit is not a free-trial code.
