To play ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN with friends, meet at the Table of Lost Grace, set the expedition to Multiplayer Mode, choose the same boss, and enter the same case-sensitive matchmaking password. How do I play Nightreign with friends?
- Check platform compatibility. Everyone must be on the same platform family: PlayStation, Xbox, or PC. PS4 and PS5 players can play together, as can Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. There is no crossplay between those families. Bandai Namco’s FAQ gives the current platform guidance.
- Meet at the Table of Lost Grace. Before starting an Expedition, go there to configure cooperative matchmaking and its password. The official Starter Guide identifies this as the place to change those settings.
- Select Multiplayer Mode. Do not choose Single Player Mode if you want to play together.
- Choose the same target boss. Every player in the group must select the same boss for the Expedition.
- Enter one shared password. Have each player enter exactly the same password, matching uppercase and lowercase letters.
- Start the Expedition. Cooperative multiplayer requires an internet connection. The Starter Guide says solo play is the mode available offline.
Bandai Namco describes Nightreign as a three-player co-op experience. Its official product page lists the game and available platform editions.

Does Nightreign have crossplay?
Cross-generation play is supported within console families, but that does not mean cross-platform play. PlayStation players can group across PS4 and PS5, and Xbox players across Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. PC players need to group with PC players; PC cannot join PlayStation or Xbox players. Bandai Namco’s launch technical information states that crossplay between different platforms is not available.

Why is Nightreign password matchmaking not working?
Work through these checks in order, using the Bandai Namco troubleshooting guidance:

- Verify that everyone entered the identical password, including capitalization.
- Confirm that every player selected Multiplayer Mode and the same target boss.
- Check that the group is on compatible platforms.
- Make sure everyone has the latest application version and regulation file. Their version details appear in the lower-right corner of the title screen.
- Use the same out-of-region matchmaking setting across the group. Find it at Main menu > System > Network Setting > Out-of-region matchmaking.
- Check Remembrance progression. If multiple players are pursuing Remembrance missions, matchmaking may fail. Have the player pursuing a Remembrance start matchmaking first, or deactivate the mission in the Journal menu.
- If the group still cannot connect, try the platform’s party-making features.
If matchmaking without a password fails
Exit matchmaking and try again. If that does not work, restart the game and retry.
