In Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, open Settings > Video > Graphics Mode and choose Vibrant Visuals. To turn it off, return to the same menu and select another available mode, such as Fancy or Simple. The option appears only on compatible devices.
Turn Vibrant Visuals on or off
- Update Minecraft to the latest version available for your device.
- Launch Minecraft and open Settings.
- Select Video.
- Under Graphics Mode, choose Vibrant Visuals.
- To switch it off, return to Graphics Mode and select another available rendering mode, such as Fancy or Simple.
You can also change the graphics mode in the Create New World or Edit World screens. Minecraft describes this as a graphics mode for compatible Bedrock Edition devices, rather than a setting available across every Minecraft edition or platform. Minecraft’s Vibrant Visuals overview gives the current selection instructions.

Check whether your device supports it
Minecraft lists Vibrant Visuals for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and PC running Minecraft on DirectX 12. These platform categories do not mean every device in them is compatible; hardware requirements still apply.
- Android: Minecraft lists Adreno 640, Mali-G68, Mali-G77, or Xclipse 530, or higher.
- iOS: Minecraft lists A12 or M1, or higher.
- PC: The game must run on DirectX 12, and older graphics hardware may still be incompatible.
For the current list and qualifications, see Minecraft’s Vibrant Visuals overview.

What Vibrant Visuals changes
Vibrant Visuals is a cosmetic graphics refresh, not a gameplay mode. Minecraft highlights reflective water, volumetric lighting, enhanced textures, and expanded clouds. The game’s FAQ says: “As a cosmetic enhancement to the game, Vibrant Visuals does not impact Minecraft’s gameplay.”
The Video settings include two presets:
| Preset | Emphasis |
|---|---|
| Favor Visuals | Prioritizes visual presentation. |
| Favor Performance | Prioritizes performance rather than visual presentation. |
You can expand Vibrant Visuals Options to adjust specific visual features. Minecraft does not publish a quantified performance difference for these presets, so the choice is not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or result on a specific device.

How it works in multiplayer
Realms players can use different graphics settings: your friends do not need Vibrant Visuals enabled for you to use it. Local split-screen does not support Vibrant Visuals; when multiple players join locally, Minecraft switches to Fancy or Simple rendering.

- Update the game. Check for the latest version available on your platform.
- Confirm device compatibility. Check the listed requirements, not just the platform name. A DirectX 12 PC, for example, can still have graphics hardware that is too old.
- Check Video settings from the title screen. Open Settings > Video > Graphics Mode. You can also look in the Create New World or Edit World screens.
- If it happens only in one world, inspect that world’s settings and active packs. Incompatible content can affect whether the mode is available.
Some launch-era instructions are version-specific. The Bedrock Edition 1.21.80 release notes, published May 6, 2025, described enabling a Vibrant Visuals toggle in a world’s Experimental tab before the graphics mode appeared. That was rollout guidance for that release; the current feature page describes choosing the mode in Video settings and in Create New World or Edit World screens. Do not assume the old Experimental toggle is a universal requirement for current versions.
