The Solar Cell page on the official wiki labels its mechanics Version 3.1, so treat the values below as that version’s listed game mechanics rather than a guarantee for every build or mod.
Install Solar Cells in the bank
Open the Solar Bank and place Solar Cells in its slots. It can hold up to six cells, and it generates current only when at least one cell is installed. Empty slots contribute no output.
The official Solar Cell page lists these outputs by cell quality in its Version 3.1 context:

With six quality-6 cells, the listed total is 180 W. To check whether a setup can power a device or group of devices, compare the bank’s available output with the circuit’s load; the available output depends on the cells installed.

Get Solar Cells in-game
The official wiki says Solar Cells cannot be crafted or looted. It lists trader purchases and Solar Bank Bundles received as trader quest rewards as acquisition routes. Cells do not wear out or require repair. The wiki does not establish a current trader price or trader-level requirement.
Wire the bank to a device
- Equip the Wire Tool.
- Right-click the Solar Bank to begin the connection.
- Right-click the powered device to finish the connection.
The official Electricity page describes a maximum distance of 10 blocks between connectable devices and a single-in, multi-out connection rule. These are wiki-described mechanics; a specific circuit may behave differently across game builds or mods.

Connect a Battery Bank
A Solar Bank can be connected to a Battery Bank as an alternate source to charge it. For this circuit, the official Battery Bank page says to begin the Wire Tool connection at the alternate power source, such as the Solar Bank, and finish at the Battery Bank.
That connection establishes a charging path; it does not by itself specify a complete day-and-night backup design or guarantee how long a battery will run a particular load. Plan around the bank’s available output and the needs of the devices in your circuit.

Version and configuration caveats
The Solar Cell page labels its listed mechanics Version 3.1. The wiki’s direct pages may not reflect every current game build, and mods can change electrical behavior. If the bank fails to power a device, check that a cell is installed, the wire runs from source to device, the connection is within the stated distance, and the circuit’s demand does not exceed the bank’s available output.
