In Minecraft: Java Edition, hold F3 and tap A to reload all chunks. This refreshes loaded terrain; it does not permanently reset or regenerate the world. The shortcut is a Java debug control, not a confirmed cross-platform Bedrock shortcut.
How do I reload chunks in Minecraft Java Edition?
- Make sure you are playing Java Edition.
- Hold F3 and tap A (the F3+A shortcut).
The Java debug-hotkey reference identifies this as the command to reload all chunks: Java debug hotkeys.

What if F3+A does not work?
Some keyboards or computers may capture the F3 key instead of passing it to Minecraft. Check your device’s function-key mode and Minecraft’s controls. Minecraft says controls can be customized in the options menu, but the exact Fn-key behavior depends on the keyboard. Minecraft Controls
Is F3+T the same as reloading chunks?
No. In Java Edition, F3+T reloads client resources such as textures and sounds; use F3+A for chunks. Java debug hotkeys

Can you reload chunks in Minecraft Bedrock?
Do not assume that F3+A works in Bedrock. Bedrock controls vary by input device, and the documented controls do not establish a general gameplay shortcut for refreshing chunks across Bedrock platforms. Minecraft Controls
What Bedrock’s /reload command does

Bedrock Editor chunk management
Bedrock Editor has a chunk-management operation that can generate or delete chunks. Deleted chunks regenerate when a player next visits, but deleting chunks changes world data. It is an editor-level terrain operation, not a casual substitute for Java’s temporary F3+A refresh. Microsoft Learn: Bedrock Editor
