To sell stolen items in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, either take them to the fence Whitebeard at the Nomads’ Camp for a quick, lower-paying sale, or store them in a shared player chest until the red stolen marker disappears, then sell them to an ordinary trader. Guides estimate the wait at roughly one to two in-game weeks, but it is not a guaranteed timer. Avoid carrying valuable stolen goods: a guard search can lead to confiscation.
How do I sell stolen items?
A red hand in your inventory marks an item as stolen. Ordinary merchants generally refuse it while that mark remains. Choose the route that fits your priority:

| Get money now | Sell to Whitebeard at the Nomads’ Camp | Fence offers are generally worse, and his available funds are limited. |
| Get an ordinary merchant to accept it | Put it in a shared player chest and wait for the red hand to disappear | Takes in-game time; guides give an approximate, variable estimate. |
| Keep the item | Store it or leave it on your horse until the stolen mark disappears | Do not carry it around while it remains at risk of discovery. |
How to remove the stolen mark by waiting
- Find a bed with a player chest and put the stolen goods in the chest. PowerPyx says player chests at beds share their contents, so you can access the stored items from another such chest.
- Let in-game time pass, then check the item’s inventory icon. PowerPyx and The Escapist estimate roughly one to two in-game weeks for the red hand to disappear. The Escapist notes that more valuable items may take longer, so treat the estimate as a guide rather than a fixed expiry date.
- Once the red hand is gone, take the item to an ordinary merchant. Guides also describe this method as a way to keep and use an item without its stolen mark.
These timings are guide-reported estimates, not a universal timer confirmed by a developer source. If the mark remains, leave the item stored longer rather than assuming it has expired.
Where to sell stolen items immediately
Whitebeard at the Nomads’ Camp
Whitebeard is an early-game fence at the Nomads’ Camp in the Trosky area, west of Troskowitz. Gameranx places him by his caravan cart near the camp’s northern edge. He buys stolen goods, which makes him a practical option when you need a sale before the mark expires.

The trade-off is value: guides describe fence offers as poor compared with ordinary traders. PowerPyx reports that Whitebeard has around 240 Groschen and replenishes his funds after a while. That is an approximate guide report, not a guaranteed purse amount; if he cannot afford everything, sell what you can and return later or use the waiting method.
Can distance or perks help you sell before the mark expires?
Some guides report that a stolen item can appear for sale to a trader far from where it was taken. Gameranx gives an Appolonia-to-Tachov example and suggests checking whether the item appears in the trader’s sale list. GamesFuze describes Thief’s Eyes as a way to tell whether goods still count as stolen in the current location. Local saleability does not make an item safe from confiscation elsewhere.
Guide descriptions of perks are not fully consistent. Gameranx and GamesFuze say Trafficker speeds the stolen-tag expiry. GamesFuze also says Hustler improves the chance of selling to a regular merchant and Partner in Crime permits sales without risk; PowerPyx places Hustler and Partner in Crime at Speech Level 20. These are secondary-guide descriptions, not a developer-confirmed, version-specific perk reference. Check the current in-game perk descriptions rather than relying on a universal level or effect.

- Store goods you plan to keep in a player chest or leave them on your horse while waiting for the mark to disappear.
- Do not treat a sale accepted in one location as proof the item is harmless everywhere. A guard search can still uncover stolen goods and result in confiscation.
- Use Thief’s Eyes, if available, as a local status check—not as a guarantee against a search in another area.
GamesFuze’s guide was updated August 28, 2026; the other cited guides date from February 2025. Because the precise timer and perk effects are not uniformly described, rely on the inventory marker and current in-game behavior rather than an exact day count.
