The requirements below are from Square Enix’s Patch 7.4 notes; Patch 7.56 later changed Savage restrictions only.
Unlock the normal AAC Heavyweight Tier
- Reach level 100.
- Meet the average item level requirement. Your average item level must be at least 745.
- Complete “Feral Fandom.” This is the named Chronicles of a New Era prerequisite in Square Enix’s Patch 7.4 Notes, updated December 23, 2025.
- Complete the follow-up quest shown in the duty unlock information. The retrieved official notes display its title and location as “???”, so those details cannot be reliably specified here.
Once unlocked, the normal duties can be queued solo through Duty Finder. The Patch 7.4 notes list an eight-player party and a 90-minute time limit.

Unlock AAC Heavyweight Savage
Savage has its own access requirements. The Patch 7.4 notes say to complete a Chronicles of a New Era quest, then speak with Gabbro in Solution Nine at X:22.3, Y:17.1. You must be a level 100 Disciple of War or Magic. The notes obscure the Chronicles quest title as “???”.

What is known about the Savage quest chain
The official Eorzea Database entry for AAC Heavyweight M4 (Savage) lists “Triple Triad Trial” as a quest that must first be completed. The available official information does not establish whether this is the entire Savage unlock chain or how it connects to the unnamed Chronicles of a New Era quest in the patch notes. Treat it as a listed prerequisite, not a confirmed complete quest walkthrough.

Square Enix’s Patch 7.56 Notes state that the weekly entrance restriction and weekly reward restriction for AAC Heavyweight Tier (Savage) were removed. Players can proceed directly to any match, and the tier grants a 12% Echo effect. These changes apply to Savage; they do not change the normal-tier unlock requirements described above.
