On Xbox or PlayStation, open Settings → System → Setup in Battlefield 6 and switch Cross-play off. You can’t change the setting while you’re in a party, on a server, or after matchmaking has started. EA’s documented toggle is for consoles; REDSEC Ranked is described separately as having console-only crossplay, without a published toggle path.
Turn off crossplay on Xbox or PlayStation
-
Open Battlefield 6 and select the gear icon to open Settings.
-
Choose System, then find Setup.
-
Turn Cross-play off.
EA says this restricts play to people on the same platform. The setting is unavailable while you’re in a party, on a server, or after matchmaking has started. If the option is unavailable, leave the party or server and stop matchmaking before trying again. EA’s Battlefield 6 crossplay instructions provide the console steps.
Can you turn off crossplay on PC?
EA Help says the in-game crossplay settings can only be viewed and changed on Xbox and PlayStation, so it does not provide a PC version of the console menu path. Separately, EA’s Battlefield 6 FAQ says players can toggle off PC crossplay to play with console players, but warns that extended matchmaking waits may override that preference. Treat this as EA’s stated preference, not a guaranteed PC-only menu procedure or a promise about every match.

How crossplay works in REDSEC Ranked
EA’s 2026 community update identifies console-only crossplay as a feature of REDSEC Ranked. It does not specify a separate player-facing toggle procedure, so there is no documented REDSEC Ranked setting path to follow here.
Will turning crossplay off guarantee console-only matches?
EA says it tries to match console players together when possible, but may allow PC players to fill servers and reduce long waits. Matchmaking depends on queue health, so a platform grouping should not be treated as a guarantee of console-only opponents in every mode. EA’s FAQ also says extended waits may override its PC crossplay preference.
