Search outdoors in the fields and forests around Bywater. The official guide points to the Great Road and the route toward Bree as places to look, but does not provide a full map of forage locations or exact item-by-item coordinates. Keep exploring rather than relying on one fixed spot, especially as seasons change.

Delphinium Brandybuck is an herbalist and healer who lives at the forest’s edge. Wētā Workshop’s overview of the game describes Delphi as a guide to finding mushrooms, berries, and wild herbs. Visit her when you want help learning what grows nearby.
Follow butterflies as you explore
Butterflies can point you toward discoveries. Julia Gessler, Communications Specialist at Wētā Workshop, wrote in the official guide: “Keen foragers should also keep a close eye on the butterflies fluttering by — when closely followed, they’ll serve as a helpful guide to new discoveries.” Treat this as an exploration cue; the guide does not identify particular butterfly colors or destinations.

Example: finding raspberries in summer
As one item-specific example, Kara Phillips’s PC Gamer guide, published July 29, 2025, reports that raspberries grow only in summer and appear on bushes in open fields around Bywater, often in clusters. It says picking a bush adds a berry marker to the map, and those markers reset at the end of the season. This is secondary-guide information about raspberries, not a guarantee that every forage item behaves the same way.
